Another point, all the anxiety and hand wringing on how the Glazers are handling the bids with several rounds, missing deadlines, lack of clarity on who will stay and who will go….

WHAT THE feck DO YOU EXPECT?????

‘Since SAF retired, the Glazers have never once exhibited a whiff of leadership or solid management. They are two fecking goblins who are so goddamn weak minded they can’t decide on a fecking thing. THERE IS NO LEADERSHIP PEOPLE!!!!!! Anyone who actually believed they would do the right thing in a timely manner are deluding themselves.

Sit back, pop some popcorn and chill. We ain’t close to completing this deal.

Didn't quite catch that, could you shout a little louder please?

Round three and it’s been almost a week yet the Glazer camp still haven’t responded? It just seems odd how lengthy and protracted the whole process is taking. I can’t help feel this retched family are being advised to keep quiet, obviously Joel and Avram are still desperately trying to cling on as well as take the money.

On the Glazers seemingly not responding, I read that one of the Tampa Bucks players suffered a tragic loss of their 2 year old daughter just a few days ago. It may be a case of them helping where they can with this sensitive situation, making sure the player and their family have any support they might need.

Maybe giving the Glazers to much credit but just some sad news I saw the other day.

A nice thought, but there's zero chance of this. I'd be shocked if the Glazers are even aware.

Most of what's happening is going on behind the scenes. Just because we aren't privy to much of it doesn't mean nothing is happening.

Oh give over. One cartoonists piece doesn't make the Guardian a "despicable racist rag". It's a miracle some of the wimps on here make it through the day.
Take it your a reader then. They had to be told to remove it. Thats how it starts. 'Oh its only...'

They won't care about that unfortunately

Has Qatar registered a bid to buy United?

You don't have any trouble with seeing through City's claims of being privately owned, what's different to you about this Qatar bid?

No. The point is - so what? As long as they aren't actively undermining human rights in the UK or doing it by using Man Utd as a platform then I don't care. It is a competitive sport. If other teams are allowed to get sovereign wealth funds as owners then we would be foolish to take the high road and revel in mid-table mediocrity to make a point. A point which, by the way, even the UK govt doesn't make.

The PL pushed us down this path by allowing Glazers to buy us and then allowing sports washing projects like City and now Newcastle. The debt is now so big that even a year of mismanagement will bring the whole house down.

Officially Abu Dhabi is not involved. Abu Dhabi United Group, which owns 81 % of City Football Group, is privately owned by Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Probably not but they do tend to have more involvement with Tampa that with us and at least Darcie is fairly well regarded there, so who knows.

Even so, how much it would delay the sale process is most likely negligible.

You are joking right? They wont give a toss.

I weirdly heard something through my work yesterday. A very tech large company (which I wont name) has a joint venture of another company with us. Anyway, the very large company is significantly owned by none other than Elliott and apparently Elliott are actively trying to sell their share in this very large company (and possibly other interests) to free up capital to invest in an unnamed sports company.

Change doesn't happen in a family ruled state by someone magically deciding to stop following their religion. This isn't a democratically ruled country where the people decide to move past religious rule and vote someone new in, you're living in dream land(or obfuscating as you really couldn't give a shite about how they act as long as they plough money into the club).

I forgive you for taking the liberty to talk on my behalf. It’s a sensitive subject so some harsh words is understandable, but with that said…

..we’re all high on our own opinions, probably me too, but isn’t a little bit rich to lecture a stranger you don’t know about a subject with holds no definitive perfect answers?

Simple question. Maybe the Emir or his folks doesn’t share your view of how they should live their life’s? Maybe your definition of progress in a country or region you maybe have little, or maybe zero personal experience of is not the same as someone who had lived there there whole life with their traditions and their culture. Just maybe… maybe …you’re the one who’s drawing too fast conclusions about a very complex subject.

I’m not against anything of all the good things you said but you and I have probably different experiences and comes from different backgrounds, that’s why we probably come to different conclusions in what’s the best way to move forward?

Probably. It was careless of me to try and humanise these mutants. Forgive me.
Considering that there wasn’t any show of support from them when Ronaldo lost his baby I’d say that the attempt to humanise them wasn’t based on very much.

I heard that Elliott Management and Manchester United were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby looked at me.

Tomorrows The Atlantic headline.

"Elliott and Avram seen sitting in a tree"

Not sure what your point is. They have a bottomless pit of money and have had an unprecedented level of success unseen in their entire history before being owned by them.

It is the worst kept secret in the world that City are indirectly owned by the Abu Dhabi regime. If that’s what you are disputing based on who technically are the owners on paper then there is no debate.

Yes, they have a bottomless pit of money because they're owned by Abu Dhabi, everyone knows that. Just like everyone knows that Qatar is trying to buy United. Officially Abu Dhabi doesn't own City, and officially Qatar isn't trying to buy United.

If anything, this post caught my attention. Curious thing, my brain only allows me to read the shouting. The rest must be really good.

Of all the shit papers in the UK, it's got the most interesting writers for me. Liew is one of them. What paper do you prefer?

It’s not our debt, it’s the Galzers debt thrown on our club
All I was doing was answering why it’s different than Newcastle and Citys debt, isn’t that the difference or am involved in some pedantic fever dream here?
It’s our (Utd) debt. You are all over the place with this one.

To be honest now ive retired I dont read the papers. I watch the news and sport and have it on in the car. When I was at work we had 3/4 papers in the canteen. Mail Guardian Independant and some days the Sun and some the Star, depending who bought them. So I used to read the full spectrum right to left.

Edward, Bryan and Darcie are heavily involved with the Buccs, so these 3 might be. They’ve also had the draft to deal with.
You’d like the think Avram and Joel in particular would be focused on United at an important time like this.

The moral outrage on both camps in this thread is comical.

Neither bidder is perfect. There is no “right” answer. The Pope could bid and people would refuse to support the club because of the Catholic church’s cover up of sexual assault and molestation of minors. Even if if it was a consortium, there would be “dirty money” hidden somewhere among the limited partners.

Let’s choose the positive perspective. With either Qatari bid or Sir Jim, there will be a huge spotlight on their other activities, whether it be pollution of INEOS or the human rights issues in Qatar. Suddenly the owners are under a microscope. Using the United platform to demand change, that’s something we as fans can get behind. Frankly, if there was no Qatari bid, we wouldn’t be discussing this, Qatar would not be held more accountable for their policies. Non-political fans will be exposed to human rights problems in Qatar or the nasty practices of chemical companies.

I just don’t see how sportswashing or greenwashing is a “problem”. The very existence of this thread has opened people’s eyes to the issues, and that is really important. Now that those injustices are at our doorstep, we care. We didn’t before or at least not to the degree that we do now. That criticism can impact real change.

You might find it comical but I don't. The media coverage of the world cup bid really opened my eyes, and as I started to look into some of the human rights issues more, I was progressively disgusted.

I don't if I can support a club that is state owned, and the thought of being done with it all makes me very sad. Not that it matters, there will be 10 new internet fans to take my place.

Any link from reliable sources mate?

Ketchups a solid choice.

Fair enough, that's probably the best way to do it to get a fuller understanding of what is being said but I couldn't stomach the Sun. It's redeeming feature was page 3 and now that's been canned!

So you've gone from 'change takes time' to 'maybe they see progress differently', I think humans rights are pretty universally defined, not too much room for interpretation there, unless you're an emir I suppose.

Whatever you like. Let’s continue when our new owner is presented with more “fruitful” chats. Now it’s game time.
