Club Sale | It’s done!

  • While United supporters, who have been opposed to the Glazers since their leveraged takeover 18 years ago, have made it clear through fans' groups that they want the Glazers to sell all of their shares in the club and clear the way for new owners, a source familiar with the situation has told ESPN that brothers Joel and Avram -- United's co-chairmen -- favour new investment that will enable them to remain in charge at Old Trafford, with siblings and fellow directors Kevin, Bryan, Edward and Darcie Glazer Kassewitz offloading their stakes in the club.

It's not possible, in this arrangement.

This is a Glazer induced update. Nothing much.

Was always going to go this way when a quick sale didn’t materialise.
They aren't selling belt buckles that a quick sale was going to happen. This is a multi billion pound asset with serious businessmen involved (apart from these fkng scrooges). It stretching this long does not really surprise me.

Don't the other siblings own more shares than those 2?

They’re selling a multi-billion £ asset and still have 7 serious bidders at the table. Of course they’re going to take it to a third round of bids you numpty.

Has any other club done this when being sold? Give me examples and explain why I am the numpty and not you. We've got people that were bidding for the club that called it a farce, and other interested parties saying they won't be held to ransom much longer, so it looks to me like you are the fecking numpty.

If the bidders are serious then they should be paying up. The club would easily double its value in the coming years as suggested with success and future growth.

It's a nothing article and any serious Journalist should be embarrassed when they have to put their name to such article , applying even a hint of critical thinking would reveal how stupid and unfeasible the whole thing is .

Every source that doesn't conform to my preconceptions is bottom tier and every news is fake and negotiation tactic.

If this actually has any validity, Manchester United fans need to collectively take a stand and boycott the club until those parasites actually leave. Hit them where it hurts, we cannot keep letting them get away with owning this club as it continues to fall further behind.

This was always my fear, that the Glazers would be prepared to gamble on being able to force through the ESL and Ten Hag bringing in consistent CL revenue again to double the club's value and sell for over 10 billion in a few years. They're obviously confident that selling now would be premature and they can ride the storm for a while longer.

I hope I'm wrong and they're just trying to squeeze more money out of Jassim's camp but I don't know anymore.

Glazer propaganda. They want SJ and SJR to bite.

No way in hell they can drive the price higher without major investment on stadium/training ground and squad with huge debt.

The stock price would plummet into oblivion if they stayed and fans would riot.

I'm just hoping these stories are being used to up the bids of Qatar and Jim Ratcliffe

If these investments end up being true and the Glazers do stay then we are truly fecked. I don't see anything good for the club for the forseable future and knowing a powerhouse like Qatar wanted to buy the club wont be easy to forget

There needs to be fecking riots at every game if they dont sell it

The worry was that the upturn in fortunes this season might make it easier for the Glaziers to stay.

In many ways we could have done with a repeat of last season as there's no way that they'd cling on.

Sources = Raine Group who want SJM & SJR to massively overpay.

They said this same thing before the last bids were submitted.

Relax. They need at least £3b to invest in stadium and debts, so they would still only max out at £7b if they sold at £10b in 5 years or so…

They'll need more than CL revenue to make staying a feasible option though. Which makes me think they'll try to force through the ESL again.

I was reading that Joel has the most shares followed by Darsy .the other snake with the ponytail is 4th as I remember. So I really don't know why he keeps showing up at cup finals

I've been surprisingly level-headed throughout this process but I can already tell I'm going to go off the deep-end before long.

This is either the height of posturing or delusions of grandeur by the 2 Glazers, no one will ever pay £10bn for the club ever, clearly though and its absolutely and shamelessly in full view that all they want and care about is their addiction to money, if they do stay then the fan base has to really do something off the scale to force these scavengers out, this type of ownership cannot continue and something has to give either from the fans and a mass boycott of games at least, or the Premier League/Uefa or even the government have to draw the line here against this absolute pillaging of an iconic club.

The backlash against them staying is going to be something epic.

Will it?

There has only been 1 meaningful matchday protest against the Glazers and that was the one that got the Liverpool game called off.

Even the ludicrous "stay outside" protest failed last year.

With so much left to play for, I'd hazard a guess that less than 1,000 people will engage in anything.

they are selling. 100% certain

that said, I’d almost like them to stay, just to see what happens to a club unable to play any of its home matches due to civil unrest.

Surely this is baiting the two serious suitors to up the ante, the club won't increase in value if they let the training ground, stadium and playing squad be left in the trail of those who actually want to compete for titles.

I expect they'll get their 6b from that Qatar guy eventually.

If they stay, the Liverpool protest will be nothing. Bet the house on it

Percentage of total voting power

Joel Glazer - 19.11%
Darcie Glazer Kassewitz - 18.15%
Bryan Glazer - 17.23%
Avram Glazer - 14.38%
Kevin Glazer - 13.77%
Edward Glazer - 12.99%
Edward Woodward - 0.05%

So, Joel and Avram hold - 33.49%

The rest siblings is around - 62.14%.

Peopl don't put in multi billion pound offers for giggles. At the same time, no one will pay more than they need to as that's business 101.

The idea that the club's value would double automatically over the next few years is possible but that will require serious investments in infra and the team too. Everyone who is bidding will take that into account.

Some of you are getting nervous for the same of it.

If the rumours of them potentially staying are true, I do question whether us getting top 4 this season is a good thing or not. Getting top 4 would have money signs flashing in Glazers eyes.

They do, but it's this business with A and B shares again.

I suppose the narrative here is something like this: the other siblings sell their B shares to the likes of Elliott/Carlyle, thus turning them into A shares - while Joel and Avram keep theirs, thus retaining control of the club (in terms of voting rights).

I stress that this isn't my narrative, but what I perceive to be certain media outlets' spin on it.

But then the investment leaves the club?
I just can’t see how it makes any sense
