Berbaclass
Fallen Muppet. Lest we never forget
NoCould he not just terminate his contract and then join us? I don’t get how it works with them.

Totally misread it.what you mean? All those players have been great signings for Palace.
Yeah but it would cost £20mCould he not just terminate his contract and then join us? I don’t get how it works with them.
So we’d have to pay them 20m if he terminated his contract of his own back?Yeah but it would cost £20m
Was obviously took after a loss. His face shows what he thinks of his team.Exciting news. That said, why do they always go with these photos where he has a constipated look on his face?
It's probably his wages + remaining time on the contract, or there's a clause in there in case he breaks it.So we’d have to pay them 20m if he terminated his contract of his own back?
Hes been sporting director since 2017.
In that time they also bought Chris Richards for 12m, sakho from Liverpool for like 30m, mateta for 10m etc.
i would expect they are negotiating the compensation price, like a transferHow come it isn’t a case of paying compensation and getting them straight away? When is Berrada and Ashworth going to be actually starting with us?
I like a few, I don't like a few. Don't know much about him to be honest. I trust Ashworth to know best.No one hits 100% of transfers, Sit Alex had some absolute clangers too, you need to get it right more often than not but everyone has 1 or 2 bad ones at some point
Usually at the back of the boat, facing forwardIf we're getting Freedman, where does Cox sit?
Sorry, I know this is asked repeatedly...
Think all those except Gallagher improves our squad to be honest. That will go down well
Exciting news. That said, why do they always go with these photos where he has a constipated look on his face?
Are Palace gonna be dicks about it or let him go amicably?
Do people reckon Freedman was their first choice or was it a case of they couldn't persuade Ward
Is this guy coming as an alternative to Ashworth?
Getting a HOR is a tough appointment. Its basically like having prime Schmeichel and wanting to bring in a top No 2. The Glazers tried to bring Ashworth as Murtough's no 2 and that failed miserably for obvious reasons. Its rumored that INEOS first went to Mitchell and then to Ward before turning to Freedman which is fair enough considering Ward's and Mitchell's CV. Freedman is on the same boat as he's also a sporting director although of a smaller team (Liverpool > Monaco > Palace). He's certainly not my favorite for the Sporting director role (Ashworth was) but he's certainly very qualified for the HOR role.
Is it Freedman or Wilcox or both?
Is it Freedman or Wilcox or both?
I think both.
Wilcox as Technical Director and Freedman as Head of Recruitment, with Ashworth being DOF.
To be fair we had cooks who couldn't even boil an egg.Kinda steering into too many cooks territory.
Wilcox as academy director maybe?
Berreda CEOSomething like that I guess
Ashworth SD
Wilcox AD ----------------------- Freedman HoR
Wonder if Berrada pushed for Ward as they apparently worked together at City, however perhaps he just wasn't interested in the role so we went to the next person on our list.
Sounds pretty exciting to me!We're getting both. Ashworth's role goes beyond supervising just the men's first team recruitment (looks over men's first team, women's first team, physiotherapy, sports science, the data people etc) and he'll be Freedman's boss.
Not sure about that formation, think I'd have Ashworth as striker and Berreda behindKinda steering into too many cooks territory.
Wilcox as academy director maybe?

He played for Palace for 8 years. 10 over two spells at the club. Can't believe Freedman only played for Palace for 2 years
Seemed like one of those players who was a club stalwart for years.

Christ I need new glasses
I was thinking two years couldn't possibly be right
He would likely have a non compete clause in his contract for about the same time as the gardening leave. If I leave my current job I’m not allowed to join a competitor for 6 months. Fairly standard practice. So we’d have to pay them 20m if he terminated his contract of his own back?
From my guess. Director of football (Ashworth) will be in charge of all areas of football, transfer will be just one part. So basically he sets the brief for transfer /playing style, types of players , key position ins and outs, maybe provides list of targets. Is this guy coming as an alternative to Ashworth?
- Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to appoint a technical director and a performance director as Manchester United’s new kingpin pushes ahead with his overhaul of the club’s football operations.
- Jason Wilcox, the highly regarded Southampton sporting director who was formerly Manchester City’s academy chief, is a leading contender for one of the roles.
- Wilcox, who worked with Berrada at City, is greatly admired although United have distanced themselves from a move for the Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman
- The biggest decision Ineos and their new hires will have to make in the coming months revolves around the future of Ten Hag, whose position is in doubt.
- Reports this week suggested United’s players are increasingly doubtful the Dutchman will still be in charge next season.
