Sonny the point is to have the player you want highlighted in a scene with opposition, or atleast a big picture. So they stand out.

Does anyone have a high resolution photo of Cantona's classic celebration before McClair ruined it?
Ok, here's one with the entire player coloured in. Personally I prefer it just the shirt, but can see why people prefer it this way. This one is a request from a lad in the newbies who's gunna have it put on canvas too (http://www.xxlpix.co.uk though I'm sure there are other places and sites that do it), so I've displayed the smaller version, and left a link to the bigger

Can still tell where the lasso tool has been used. I'll get the hang of this eventually.
you can just duplicate the layer, desaturate the colour on one, then erase all the colour information you don't want... If you find the lasso tool a pain..

There's no great secret to this, I simply take a good image, cut out the shirt, grey scale the rest of the picture adjusting the contrast if necessary, and paste the coloured shirt back on. With a bit of care and attention comes out nicely, and doesn't take that long really, probably just over 5 minutes each one once I've found the picture?

This way you can also play with the background layer, in terms of contrast and focus etc.
I think you're right Brad by the way. Maybe the shirt alone does look better. The Cole picture looks brilliant.
