I don't think it was due to the pain of the injury, it's more the disappointment that he won't be there, and the fear that it could maybe even affect the world cup afterwards. Players are used to this kind of pain, it's the timing of it and the opportunities it will take away from them that'll bring the tears.

Also, Mbappe got a knock on his ankle now, they're falling like flies. I don't think it'll keep him out but that's terrible timing all around. I hate to see those big match-ups without both teams at full strength but that's football.

Yeah, you're probably right. The disappointment was probably as painful as the sprain and fracture. I still don't think it warranted the sobs, but we've seen very strong characters tear up after losing in Championship Finals. I guess this was Neymar realizing the Finals dream had ended.

Lol hes not crying because of pain most probably, thinking of missing real madrid game, wc and many things going on his head

This isnt NBA where only the last 5% of games of the season have any importance.
 
Mbappe apparently is injured too. They are dropping like flies.

And good to know that Brazil has the treatments that are unavailable in France, Spain or UK.

Madrid isn‘t exactly a stable winner atm so PSG can still go through with only a 2:0. Neymar is a loss but di Maria is ok Motta indeed will be important and the Mbappe injury sounds very like CL trashtalk. Madrid obvs are favourites and they surely are in a stronger mental state given their unmatched success in games against the European elite. Unlike PSG.

Yep, that's been pointed out already by another poster, and you're probably right.

It's crazy that such an innocuous bit of contact resulted in such a big injury, possibly costing him the WC. It's hard to tell if Neymar was trying to pay the defender back with a light kick at his trailing leg just prior to turning his ankle 90*. From the game highlights, he was taking another beating (with some exaggeration from Neymar of course).

The sprain happened because when the opponent's leg touched his, right as he was going to make a step.

The fracture is a stress fracture though. It was triggered by the sprain, but it was bound to happen. It's unlucky but also lucky that it was in time for recovery for wc.

What a ridiculous post. If you play well, you win. It is not Real's fault, if PSG were incompetent to ship in 2 late goals. They were not even fluke goals

Hope Madrid absolutely pump PSG. Don’t care much for the club or it’s fans but they earned the right to be called one of the worlds best clubs back in the 50s, whereas PSG have done feck all historically and are trying to buy it.

Madrid have success today because it was earned back when there was little $ in the game. PSG were irrelevant on a global scale until the $ came along.

Ronaldinho left gremio as a raw talented footballer, not as the superstar he became.

Paris the city is an understandable pull, and in that respect is far superior to Madrid. But you cannot tell me that the world eally gave a feck about what PSG did as a football club until the last 5 years.

Would you class west ham united as a big club? Two of the biggest talents to come out of Argentina in recent years, tevez and mascherano, had no problem joining them. I’m sure they loved the city and the fees their agents commanded though, much like Ronaldinho and Rai.

Look at Brazil during the WC 90: Ricardo Gomes and Valdo were PSG players. A long tradition of successful Brazilian players who opted for PSG.

you've missed the point. Real madrid are where they are right now because of performances on the field throughout football history. PSG are where they are right now because of money.

I think the beautiful city of paris might have been a bigger influence on the decisions. because competing for important trophies certainly wasn't.

I think it is good in a way that we get some more teams among the very best in the world. Makes it more interesting.

I understand the frustration among some PSG fans that the club lack any kind of historical relevance, but that is a fact. PSG cannot measure itself historically with clubs like Real Madrid, Barca, Manchester United or Bayern Munchen. Nobody thinks of Ronaldinho as a PSG player. But year 2050 maybe people will talk about PSG with that kind of respect, unless the CL fiascos continue year after year and Qatar buy another club instead.

The three biggest things in PSG's history in my opinion:
2011: Qatar buy PSG and starts the money pumping
2012: PSG sign Zlatan and take the first step towards being an international top club (also buying many other good players, but Zlatan was the big game changer)
2017: PSG sign Neymar and Mbappé and taking the final step into being an international top club

The players are there. Now PSG need to show results in terms of CL trophies. Otherwise it will be hard to attract players to play in an unattractive league like the French.

That being said, if PSG do manage to win day, 3/4 champions leagues in the next 10 years I’ll respect them because even with unlimited funds, it doesn’t guarantee the success.
