CL Semi-Finals 13/14 - April 22,23,29,30

It should be clear to Bayern now that Kroos is no good for them. Swap deal with Fellaini will be a win-win.

I could see Athletico pulling off a shock and getting to the final. Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic though?

Won't be much of a shock to be honest. They are champions elect in the league of the other CL finalist.

I've never seen a worse and more naive tactical set up than this at this level. They are playing with no defence against Real Madrid. There's nobody ever back. I can't believe what I've just seen.

It is bizarre, plays perfectly into Madrid's way of playing, even though two of the goals were poorly defended set pieces the amount of space they've left players like Bale and Ronaldo is mind boggling at times.

I really get the feeling that we won the Bundesliga because the team was just playing, but the more Pep's philosophy krept in, the worse it got. Even against Arsenal we were shite and unconvincing and it's just gotten worse every week since then.

boys vs men today holy shit.

and wtf this first two goals. you can concede two goals by real madrid. but PLEASE not like that and by RAMOS.

Pep has really transformed this Bayern team. I still remember when this team could defend on set pieces

Ancelotti set up his team perfectly to play on the counter, although I did not expect it to be THIS easy. The two goals from corners were a bit lucky but also ridiculous marking from Bayern.

Ideally, Atletico beat Chelsea and then beat Madrid in the final now, but you just get the feeling it's Madrid's year.

Last season's Bayern-Barca or our semi against Schalke were even more one-sided.
Agree with us against schalke, forgot about that. This feels even more one sided then bayern Barca though, Madrid look like scoring every time they have the ball.

Why do I keep seeing Neuer 30 yards out from his goal? His heads gone :lol:

He is a disaster waiting to happen whenever I see him. Also his distribution is extremely overrated.

Like I said on here in the Bayern-thread before the first leg: It's suicidal. It's retarded. It's incomprehensible. If somebody can explain to my how this tactic is supposed to work, I'll bake him the greatest cake ever.

Near perfect half from Madrid. Only the Alonso yellow and Ramos risking a yellow letting it down.

If I remember right, the first leg against Arsenal you played brilliantly, and in the second you looked pretty average.

What was that, 3 weeks apart at that stage?

Agreed, I dont think Pep is that great a manager, he got very lucky with the Barca team coming to its peak, and has taken over a side that was totally dominant last season and has made them look beatable and far inferior. The work he did with Barca was more containing than it was progressive.

It hasn´t been an easy game but decent refereeing from Proença. Felt bad for Alonso but that was a reckless challenge

Arsenal got a penalty and was more dangerous then us in the first half. We dominated against a 10 man team. Nothing to write home about for a team that's supposedly dominating and in possession anyway, really.

The Champions League is amazing. Watching any team beating a club of that standard at their own stadium, playing like that is a joy to watch. Heck, even if it were Liverpool it would be enjoyable to watch.

What Red Nev thinks of Bayern vs Real

Why are the pundits surprised about this outcome. Bayern are lucky they are not down 10-0 on aggregate. Real Madrid should have ended the tie in the first leg. This was always going to be easy for madrid tonight.

I don´t know what is more breathtaking, Real Madrid´s brilliant performance or how extremely shit Bayern has become over the last weeks. While this years Bayern did not once reach the top level of last season they used to be way better than this.

It is obvious that counter are the biggest weakness of Guardiola´s system, but the way Real just cuts them open is shocking.

I would opt for the second. It's almost ridiculous how this team looks so different in terms of style although all the players are still the same. And when Dortmund kicked the hell out of Bayern 3-0 at the Allianz, people would believe that Pep would get his players working like beasts with another plan in case. However, nothing doing... like the old Ray would say, Bayern were bobbins. Bring back that team of last year that trounced Barcelona.

To me, Guardiola will end up being a glorified Arsene Wenger at this rate; one plan A, no plan B, plenty of sterile possession to no end product against tougher teams.

Worked for years at Barcelona. They did the exact same thing to Real and beat them over and over and over under Guardiola.

I think your midfield lacks the quality of Barcelona's to do this, but I'm sure Pep will learn from this and adjust next season. You still won the league, made the UCL semi final and are in the German cup final.

Questionable assertion this.

Horrible tactics from Pep. No Martinez as a DM in front of the defense to intercept the counters? For Christ's sake, didn't he watch the first game? He has committed suicide tonight. It certainly isn't stupidity, it's arrogance and he is getting exactly what he deserves right now, nothing more and nothing less.
