CL Semi-Finals 13/14 - April 22,23,29,30

Watched the Chelsea game late. Side Show Bob strikes again. He is such a dirty player when the opposing player is off the ball, usually an elbow or block. Shame it resulted in the Cech injury but Side Show has to learn.

Are Ronaldo and Bale both doubtful for today?

Well they may be doubts but the replacements are hardly players you wouldnt worry about. Di Maria and Isco.

Di Maria is not a replacenent, he is a starter together with Ronaldo and Bale. He has been their best player this season.

Ronaldo is rumoured not to be 100%, despite having returned to training, though he's supposed to have said, "it doesn't hurt". Hence why Ancelotti is talking about a final fitness test today.

Bale's supposed to have some kind of bug, couldn't train for a couple of days, and didn't join the team last night. He has apparently joined them today.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's one or the other, but not both.

In which case they'll probably adopt the formation they did in the Copa del Rey final, bring Isco into midfield and have Di Maria wide right.

I think the team, that does less blatant mistakes will win today. There will be enough ugly situations for the defenders and sooner or later someone will feck up. Still I dont expect a high scoring game. Pep will play very cautious.

Madrid XI: Casillas, Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrão, Alonso, Modric, Di María, Isco, Ronaldo, Benzema

Subs: Diego López, Varane, Bale, Marcelo, Casemiro, Morata, Illarra.

Bayern XI: Neuer; Rafinha, Dante, Boateng, Alaba; Lahm, Schweinsteiger; Ribéry, Kroos, Robben; Mandzukić.

Subs: Raeder, Zingerle - Martínez, Pizarro, Götze, Weiser, Müller

I saw other lineup, it was Martinez instead of Rafinha, which one is it?

Edit: and Bale for Isco.

The 4141 with Lahm in midfield and Rafinha right back is correct. Martinez, Götze and Müller are on the bench.

Rafinha vs Ronaldo sounds great

Though it might be Lahm helping him stop Ronaldo as well.

Definitely this. I think the player in Lahms position will have a bigger influence on stopping Ronaldo than whoever is at right back. Sort of like what Jones was doing when played him. Difference is that Lahm is a better player and can do more than Jones' limited defensive role in that particular match.

It's Di María that Rafinha should be more worried about. He's all over the place. I think this formation is the way to go for Pep.

Disappointed that Bale is on the bench. I was wondering who to buy for the fantasy game and there were different options. Not sure on how injured Ronaldo was I didn't want to opt for him. It was really down to Bale or Robben or Ribery and I choose Bale because of the home field advantage :(

I predict a high scoring draw. 2-2. Only a scoreless draw would surprise me. Could see a win either way but something tells me that Madrid are better motivated. Bayern have been sluggish since winning the league and reaching the semis.

1-3 Bayern. Can't see Madrid's defence coping with Ribery and Robben really.

I sure hope you are right. My problem is that Rafinha is easily frustrated and is a red card waiting to happen. No doubt they will try and exploit him. Kroos will also most probably drop deep to help out Schweinsteiger. Hopefully it goes well.

I wonder how fit Ronaldo is as well, I wonder if he is at 100% tonight.

I want Real to win the CL so that Ancelotti can leave of his own accord after job done.

You mean like Pepe?
Pepe has calmed himself down lately, hasn't he? More like Ramos I guess. Still the 3 of them are accidents waiting to happen, maybe throw in Mandzukic in there as well.

Can't bloody wait for this. I've enjoyed watching both teams this season, I don't even have a preference as to who I want to win.

Although if Madrid were to go out it might boost our chances for Ancelotti...come on Robben you bald angel!

I love these Champions League nights when the grounds are all dressed up, the crowd's buzzing, the music's playing and the floodlights are shining down.
