I think the following players are probably on their way out of City this summer whether they win the title or not today:

Tevez
Dzeko
Balotelli (though Mancini seems to have a weakness there)
Kolarov
Johnson
maybe Kolo Toure

Any others?

Are they going to be able to demand top prices for them? If Arsene Wenger's comments regarding a summer of austerity for Arsenal have any grounding in reality then they may find it hard to move these players on, as other managers will probably feel the same way. Who is going to meet City's valuation for Tevez and pay his wages for example? Same story with Dzeko.

I think this summer may be the last summer for big spending for a while, with the FFP coming into play. It is assumed that City will strengthen further, but will they be able to? Surely, if they don't move some of these on then they are not going to be in a position to buy any other big names, and that must be their plan with Europe being next in their sights. If Chelsea don't win the Champions League then that will be one of the few clubs with financial clout largely taken out of the market - they will struggle to attract top names this season. That leaves very few clubs who can pay what City will want.

It's going to be an interesting summer.

Winners of the biggest league in the world, in European CL and have endless money for wages? They'll have a good chance of getting anyone they want. God know's who they will go for though, probably Bale. If they signed him, PL wise, its about as high profile as you could go. BUT at the same time so many players are wasted there.

I know they will be able to attract anyone they want, but that isn't the only issue. How on earth will they comply with FFP if they keep just buying players without clearing players out? Surely they cannot risk it?

I think it's fairly likely they will be going for RVP, but again he will cost them a fortune in wages and transfer fees.

Dzeko will all but leave, probably join a German team. Can't see Van Persie joining or Cavani for that matter. Well documented they are interested in Hazard; Spurs also want the player but it may depend on Champions League football.

Dzeko, Kolarov and Kolo Toure probably won't go anywhere. Not sure about Balotelli

Dzeko has been a big disappointment for the money, they must be planning on replacing him? His market value must be pretty shit after this season though, he's hardly worth top dollar any more.

Tevez is a tough one to call. You'd have bet your house on him leaving this summer a few months ago, but considering he's starting regularly now, and has apologised, I'd imagine he'll stay. Dzeko, Kolo Toure and especially Johnson should all leave to play more often. Johnson is actually quite a player, and would do a job for someone like Chelsea or Spurs. Chelsea could pay his wages, and need wingers, so I wouldnt be surprised to see them enquire. However, City will lack width even more than they do now if he leaves, so maybe Mancini will try to keep him for the time being.

Transfers in, I expect they'll get Hazard and another CB, an probably another ST. They lack depth this season, so I fully expect to see them strengthen throughout. Even if they didnt lack depth, Id expect them to strengthen, just because they can, the cnuts.

Adebayor is another that I expect will leave.

Kolo Toure will likely to move and they probably bring in a new centre back to partner Kompany and rival Lescott.

That's kind of my point though. Can they just strengthen this summer regardless of whether they shift some players from their wage bill and generate some income from sales?

Tevez has probably realised that he's not going to be transfered to any top side in Europe because they either cannot afford him or don't want him. He has nowhere to go.

I think Dzeko can do a decent job for a top 4 side. Someone like Spurs would do well with him but the fact that he must be on 200K or so a week means he will never go there.

I reckon they will sign hazard and have a pretty good go at Neymar perhaps. Otherwise its difficult to say as they pretty much afford anyone

Again, this is kind of my point.

We all know the players they would like, and we all know they have an open cheque book. That doesn't change the fact that they have to comply with the FFP.

If they don't sell Dzeko and Tevez and possibly others and shift those costs then how can they possibly bring in more talent and still comply?

You can't assume that City players will leave if their contract is up. They are too expensive for clubs to just take on. Who's looking for a striker that would want Dzeko or could afford him at all? Balotelli is a player that you won't be seeing getting less money.

The whole reason that they didn't sell Tevez is because they didn't get the fee they wanted. They damn well tried to get rid of him. It ain't that easy when you're giving your players CEO money.

Agreed, so if they can't shift these players at the value they want are they going to be forced to sell them for reduced fees in order to allow them to buy or will they be forced to stick with them simply because they can't move them on?

Thing is that some of those players may be unwilling to take a pay cut to leave City. If as we at the caf like to say "it's all about the money" then surely those players won't be desperate to leave, with the wages they are on.

According to my paper today, since Mansour arrived on the scene, City have spent £1.2 billion!

Unfortunately, they'll be able to wave the cash under any players nose they take a fancy to. :(

If I was at City I would get shot of Balotelli, he almost cost them the league and they turned it around when he was banned.

Yeah, I reckon there will be a few players leaving, and of course the inevitable 100m spent to bring more players in.

Tevez, Dzeko, Balotelli, Johnson, Hargreaves, K Toure could all leave. Milner hasn't featured much recently either, could see him leaving.

They'll try to get Hazard. And, don't be surprised if they go for one of Falcao/Llorente/Cavani.

I can see quite a few changes taking place.

I think they'll get rid of Dzeko because he wants more playing time and isn't likely to get it at City. I wouldn't be surprised if he re-emerges in Germany next season. Also, based on 'Arry's comments, I'm guessing Adebayor to Spurs may get permed this summer. They will keep Tevez and Aguero since they seem to work well together. Balotelli is a mystery since other club are probably not likely to pick up his wages, although if Dzeko leaves, I think Balotelli is certain to stay.

Hargreaves, Bridge, Savic, and Santa Cruz are good candidates to be quietly let go as well.

I don't see a mass exodus however. Mancini seems to think he has no resources has soon as more than 1 player (not counting Hargo) is injured. He likes having a big squad. We'll probably seeing a couple of players leave (again not counting Hargreaves) at the most.

For me City are 'in for a penny, in for a pound' with regards to FFP.

They will not under any fathom of reality qualify for FFP, even with the squad they have today. So, given that, they might just as well say f*ck it who cares and keep paying bench players 150k a week. Because as long as the Sheikh stays around, money is no object.

Oh yeah, I forgot that Bridge, Santa Cruz and Adebayor are all on loan. They'll all leave, and probably Savic too. Two of Tevez/Dzeko/Balotelli will likely leave, freeing up a spot (or two) for strikers. Milner and Johnson also could leave.

Trust me, City won't stop now. Yaya said they want to take over world football. They've got the title, now they'll be gunning for CL glory. They will buy more players.

Milan made Balotelli their no 1 target this week according to Italian papers. Considering how close Raiola is to Milan people and that Balotelli seems to be a Milan fan I reckon a deal is likely to be made for a sizeable sum.

Aguero will move to Barcelona within 2-3 seasons imo. Barca will be looking out for a top quality striker to replace Villa and he'll be a perfect fit.

Yaya has already said he wants to play for Barca again and they could also do with a defender like Kompany.

We need some La Liga interest in City players!

They'd just replace them with someone just as good. Besides I don't think the core of that side will leave, they seem to enjoy playing together and they're all still young - Silva, Aguero, Kompany, Hart and Nasri are all in mid 20s. You didn't see Chelsea's best players leave. They'll build on that.

I don't know if you are right or not. I kind of hope you are though, because if so surely their new dynasty will not last for long.

Let's just say they do decide not to worry about the FFP, and let's just assume that the FFP will not prove to be ultimately toothless. Surely getting booted out of Europe until they comply will have a massive effect on the players they can attract regardless of the salaries they pay?
