City and Financial Doping | Charged by PL with numerous FFP breaches | Hearing begins 16th September 2024

So let's the options here

1. City receive a fine - probably the most likely

2. City are suspended from new player acquisitions - the club will probably be allowed to make transfer this summer though

3. City are docked points in the single digits - could happen and might mean Europa Cup for a season

4. City are docked 12 or more points - less likely but it will mean that the top 4 race opens up

5. City get relegated - very unlikely

They won the last case by default as much of the evidence was time barred and lost. They still had to accept guilt and paid 10m.

No such issues here as time barring not a factor.
Yes that’s what I just learnt. This will make the outcome very interesting. As the premier league can go back as far as they need to. UEFA were hampered by a time bar which didn’t allow the so called transactions to be investigated despite an unspoken acknowledgement that they did happen.

Do Juventus' players from the Calciopoli season claim that Seria A Scudetto? A lot of them won trophies elsewhere but for players like Walker, Ederson, de Bruyne they haven't won much or anything outside of City

Well, the difference here is that Juventus gained an advantage that extended outside of transfer activity and salaries. They actually cheated to gain the upper hand, once the ball had started rolling. That's something entirely different.

They've been charged for every year until they stopped cooperating, so what happens about the rest of the years since they stopped? Why is that not being investigated? imagine not getting investigated for a potential crime just because you stop cooperating.
No.
They've been charged for the years they weren't cooperating.
They started cooperating in 2018.

They should cancel the whole club.
If it goes from 2009-2022.

2009/10 - Chelsea
2010/11 - Manchester Utd
2011/12 - Manchester City Manchester Utd
2012/13 - Manchester Utd
2013/14 - Manchester City Liverpool
2014/15 - Chelsea
2015/16 - Leicester
2016/17 - Chelsea
2017/18 - Manchester City Manchester Utd
2018/19 - Manchester City Liverpool
2019/20 - Liverpool
2020/21 - Manchester City Manchester Utd
2021/22 - Manchester City Liverpool

Amazingly it would only affect Utd and Liverpool and give both 3 titles each.

New standing would be

Manchester United - 23 times
Liverpool - 22 times
I think it only goes up to the 17/18 season, meaning we’d have 22 titles, and Liverpool would have 20. Which is jokes.

Apparently they can’t applea to CAS either so this might actually happen lads and ladies ! Would post the link but once again I can’t

If City get docked 12 points they still have a good chance of top 4, they’d only be 7 off Spurs.

They should be stripped of these titles. They basically did this from the get go. If such owners ever take over United I am done with this sport

Yet some people want a Middle East nation state to take over United because they’d have ‘more money’.

Pep will walk and not even sure Mansoor will stay involved. You will also be under a lot more scrutiny so what’s the point for the owners?

Keep your fingers crossed they don’t relegate you as say goodbye to the top players…
Honestly we should have been relegated many years ago for that "Clap your hands" video alone

Fine and transfer ban for a season. They won't be docked points and there will be no retrospective punishment.

Have to admit i found it weird they were topping revenue charts. I see some of their fans thinking they will win this as they won the CAS/Uefa case. This is completely different...

Also asking do the league have proof.... id fecking expect so

I would say the reason its taken the long is to gather up the necessary (and above-board) proof of everything and make sure its watertight.

Sky sports are already reporting that this is likely to take a long time to come to a conclusion. Very unlikely anything happens this season apparently as it’s likely to run into next season.

Probably longer, it'll be argued out for a long time, appeals, counter appeals etc then CAS will get involved and just let them get away with it like they did the UEFA CL ban/fine.

*Edit* Just saw they can't appeal to CAS... lovely.

A fine to a club that signed world class players to be the backup to their world class players.

I hope this is the beginning of the end for this disgusting club.

Their league titles are forever typed with an asterisk now if they get to keep them

In the minds of most football fans, they surely already are. It would be only fair and correct for this to now happen anywhere they are committed to text, though.

I’m all for voiding the seasons they won rather than awarding to second. That isn’t a fair reparation to all the teams who had to play them. Strip out their results with all teams and you might have different runners up, different CL runs, different relegations etc

Yet some people want a Middle East nation state to take over United because they’d have ‘more money’.
Then they need to dock enough points to make sure they cannot get CL football. This is their chance.

The only way a fine is the most likely outcome is if you think they will be cleared on the vast majority of charges and punished for relatively minor infringements.

Can see this being a Red Bull breaching the cost cap punishment in the end though sadly where everyone is calling for the harshest punishments and all City get is a 15 million pound fine and 1 transfer window ban thats 3 windows in advance to stockpile players in advance.

This is going to go on for years considering the sheer scale of their cheating and everything will be appealed times infinity.
(Although can the Premier League be taken to the CAS?)

Retroactively punish them for previous seasons as them financially doping literally affected everyone else in the league.

Mind, the ordinary justice in the ordinary trials that came in the following years acquitted all the people involved of any wrong doing… which is just incredible if you like, and yet that’s often the case so many times in history when you follow the Ok Corral rules to hang a villain at the nearest tree under the rage of the herds. And I do not really think the Emirates will accept such outcome with light heart and all their sportwashing effort to crumble, whatever the herds feel or want.

If the average caf posters knew about them cheating why did it take PL 9 years to act on it? let them win titles first? wankers. Whatever happens now they have won those titles.

It's a bit ridiculous to be honest. They've been blatantly flouting the rules for years. The inflated sponsorships from companies who were obviously owned by the same people has been a complete piss-take.

Doesn't it only go from 09/10 to 17/18 at the moment. So we'd get two and Liverpool would get one. We'd extend our lead

Of course if the seasons after that aren't being included yet because they are refusing to provide the information needed, then you'd think they would ultimately get the same punishment.

Imagine if all clubs affected by their alleged financial cheating decide to bring a class action lawsuit against them (or whatever the UK equivalent of this is) and they end up being made to pay hundreds of millions in damages to clubs who got relegated / knocked out of cups / denied titles

Oh my
