Cissokho

If we buy yet another defender I'm going to be very........annoyed.

If there's any truth in this and we're looking for an Evra replacement, I don't understand why Fergie won't give Fabio a chance to prove himself in the position. He's Rafael's identical twin, which means he should be as good on the left as Raf is proving to be on the right.

Fabio isn't left footed though and it's important we have that at left back considering Young and Nani cut inside onto their right foot an awful lot.

 Is they a correlation with identical twins having the same abilities?

Fabio only issue is his fitness, if he can stay injury free he could become the top left or right back in the game.

Right I think I'm going insane.

Didn't Milan cancel his transfer after finding out that he had a massive overbite a few years back?

I don't think it was an overbite, but his teeth were rotting or something to that extent, they believed it would lead to further medical problems down the road, such as problems related to his spinal cord.

Does that make any sense, or am I just totally uneducated on that type of thing?

I'd trust the AC Milan doctors over ours to be honest...they kept Maldini playing till his late 50's and for years had a proper dads army out there. They know how to spot potential problems, and after the Hargreaves debacle the last thing we need is buying crocks.

Fabio may be made of glass, but at least we've had a glimpse of what he can turn into. Hopefully he'll be able to do a RVP and stay fit for a season once Evra starts to fade.

I remember watching him play for Porto against us.. Was very good going forward.
But from what I've read, he has been poor at Lyon.

He was pretty highly rated a few years ago before the move to Lyon but disappointing since then. He got a call-up for the French national team after the World Cup debacle but hasn't seriously been in contention since, just didn't build on the promise he showed at Porto.

No, he couldn't. If he's coming to England it should be West Ham or Villa, not a top club.

I like Cissokho and I've been formulating a theory about French players in Ligue1 perhaps being a little 'too comfortable' at home and not being very challenged...Plus, I have to honestly say Ligue1 is largely boring despite Lyonnais typically being a competitive club

What's not to like in the Frenchman, he's got speed, strength, size & skill...For a LB, that's a coveted set of tools

He's crap.

I've heard his defending is worse then Evra's.

He couldn't defend a cupcake from invading bits of paper, if he was armed with napalm bombs.

I can't argue with compelling logic like that

Have you seen him for Lyon? Defensively he's possibly the worst full back that ever walked on Earth. We may as well put Nani or Young at left back, they will be equally clueless defensively and will also provide offensive runs like him, possibly even better.

You don't remember his job on CR at OT?...The issues with Cissokho are less about his abilities and play than what sort of diva he has been at Lyon...Aulas wants him out and has no shortage of suitors but they are unlikely to recoup their €18 million (Porto, they sure do good business in the transfer market)...How much of a headache can he be in the lockerroom?...I don't know enough about him to say but as a player, there's a lot to like

Deal nearing a conclusion to see the player off to Los Che for between €6.5-8 million

Isn't this the player who once had a transfer cancelled or something because he has bad teeth?

Being French as well, I imagine Cissokho could develop some nice chemistry with Mathieu on that left flank the way Alba did. I think he's very suited for the Spanish league and will be a great signing for Los Che.

Agreed. I think they'll try and use it the same way with 2 left backs covering each other and getting forward.

Some reports suggested Guardado can play left back and do the same thing... Eh in pre-season and the Madrid match it would seem he cant even attack anymore let alone be counted on to defend

Doubtful on Guardado, geez I totally forgot about the Mexican winger. Real shame he was buried in Segunda when Depo were relegated, I'm a fan of the player. But Guardado is a terrific left sided winger

Guardado didn't look good against RM? Missed the match

He did what I saw him do against Spurs in pre-season. No running with the ball or dribbling, just playing passes back to the central midfielders. Didnt give an outlet on the left or cause any problems whatsoever.

I liked him too and by all accounts he had a good season despite it being the segunda but so far I've not seen any of the hard work, pace and passing that made me a fan years ago. In fact I remember being particularly impressed by him in a match against Valencia a few years ago.

I still get a smile thinking about the linkup Guardado had with Nery Castillo and El Tri - I thought they were really going to take Int'l football by storm
