Not that ex Liverpool donkey, the Porto left back Ali Cissokho.

I thought he was outstanding in both legs. Not many players force us to change our setup, but he did as Fergie put Rooney on the right to counter his attacking threat.

Anyone seen much of him prior to the quarter finals? It looks like he has the ability to play as a left winger too. He looks to have great stamina, speed, strength and he’s good on the ball.

Sure, i have only seen him in two games, but I cant remember seeing a better all round left back for some time. Is he worth a bid? I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the big European clubs go for him in the summer.

Not seen anything of him before the game against Utd but was very impressed with him. He's in the press today praising Utd for going through and wishing them luck for the rest of season.

He also says he wants to play in England one day.

Would be a good signing but not for us with Evra in the first team and Fabio breaking through.

Looked quite handy, but not exactly a technical player. Also the name gives bad vibes.

Controversial i know, but based upon those 2 performances only which i know is not a very fair comparison, i thought he was better than Evra.

Plus, hes only 21.

No that's ridiculous. Evra is like a winger on the ball, Cissokho is like O'shea.

Alright defender mind, and he would be a good signing for a mid table team I reckon.

Could see him being Liverpools annual £7 million mandatory left back doomed-to-fail signing

Looked like a nifty player. Still time to develop, I can imagine him playing for a club of the calibre of Spurs or Everton.

And you are just an idiot - even though you are probably a Pixies fan.

I would love to know if anyone else thought Cissokho plays like O'Shea.

I never said he plays like O'shea. I was exaggerating because you said he was better than Evra.

And then to come out and say it's a compliment to O'shea to compare him to some nobody footballer who has only played a handful of games for Porto and whom you've only seen play twice is quite frankly insane.

If Cissoko plays like he did in the last 2 games in every game, then i think hes a better player than Evra. Question is can he do that?

If he cant maintain that level, then hes an underachiever. I dont believe in players overachieving.

Personally, i cant remember too many games where Evra has played to the level that Cissokho did.

Credit to Porto's talent scouts, they always find unknown players, develop them into good ones and sell them at very high prices. I was impressed by Cissokho either, fantastic fullback.

Porto left-back Aly Cissokho has told skysports.com of his admiration for UEFA Champions League quarter-final victors Manchester United.

The Red Devils became the first English side to claim success at Estadio do Dragao after Cristiano Ronaldo's wonder goal handed them a 3-2 aggregate win.

Cissokho has conceded the European champions deserved their triumph on the night and has wished them luck ahead of their semi-final meeting with Arsenal.

He said: "I think we played against the best team in the world, alongside Barcelona.

"They showed tonight why they are champions. To come here and win is a very difficult task.

Future

"We deserved something, we were confident of going through, but that is football.

"We have to regroup and try to win our league this season. There is a lot to play for. Good luck to United."

Cissokho's impressive displays this season have seen him linked with a move away from Porto, and he has conceded he would be open to playing in England's top flight in the future.

The defender said: "I love the Premier League. It is the best league in the world, so to be linked with a move is fantastic.

"I will wait until end of the season to see, but I would love to play in that league one day."

Wow. Are you that guy from Memento?

Good young player. Barcelona should go for him. Would save them a lot of money coming after Clichy, Lahm and Evra.

He's 21 apparently, a ripe age for the pickin'.

Also, according to Wiki he's only played two games for Porto. I'm assuming this is some sort of mistake. He's French too.

Let's buy every player who plays well against us.

Wiki only counts league games, and Porto signed him in January, so its possible. They play a lot of their squad players in the league.

Arsenal would be a good destination for him But not Liverpool as they would turn him into shite

He may not have looked as bad as O'Shea but he'll have to go some to be in Evra's class considering a lot of people believe he's tthe best left back in the world.

To be fair the lad did well, but he did get caught out a few times when he'd made forward runs. Evra's quality is that he seems to know when to make his run and when not to and conseqnetly doesn't often get caught out.

He looks a prospect but plenty of full backs look good going forward - the key is whether they're consistent in Defence week in week out.

I swear his interview gives off like he wants to join us one day.

lot of money for a full back who was virtually unknown to us before the united - porto games this season

still looked excellent at old trafford

^ yup sums up my feelings as well... seems like a very big jump but if he can consistently maintain that level of ability then he can be very good for Milan.

didnt porto sign him in jan for something like 200k ?

great deal for them

has he had a meteoric rise or what?

in the space of one year and a bit he moved from a french second division side (after one season there), to a dud portuguese side, to the reigning portuguese champions (during that season), to milan at the end of that season. fair play to him.

Speaking of Porto, how is that Fernando lad doing. Was most impressive against us
