I did a quick search and did not find a thread for this guy:

144366_ciro_immobile_1.jpg

Here some quick facts about him:

Age: 24
Current Club: FC Turin
Position: CF
Stats this season (goals/assists): 30 appearances Serie A (20/2), 1 appearance Coppa Italia (1/0)

So, this guy is currently the top scorer in terms of goals in the Italian league, scoring more than a third of all goals of his club. He had his debut for the Italian national team not long ago vs. Spain and is a candidate for the squad for Brazil. In difference to his name, one of his main strengths are his pace and general mobility. Others are his shooting technique and finishing ability. He is expected to leave his current club in the Summer. Potential destinations are Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid. I have also heard that Arsenal is in for him aswell. One tricky part about this guy is, that each Juventus Turin and FC Turin hold 50% of the rights for him. Juve wants to sell him to a foreign club to generate money for transfers. Estimated price is between 20 and 25 Mil. €.

My main reason for creating this thread is that according to numerous sources this guy is suppossed to become Lewandowski´s successor at the BVB this summer. I personally don´t follow the Serie A that closely and hope for some of you guys to tell me more about him.

Here is some fairly new video about:

^^ indeed, I was having a laugh the other day about his name. In Bosnia Ciro was this famous old train who was slow as feck, and Immobile is, well you know..

I thought this was a thread about some mobile network operator when I saw the title.

Isn't he partly owned by Juventus, or am I thinking of a different guy here?

From the rumours I've read both Dortmund and Atletico want him for next season.

Yeah, he is co-owned by Juventus. It's pretty much the same for a-lot of top young talent in Italy; playing for 'x' club and co-owned by one of the big boys. Always seemed an odd, messy system to me but I don't know all the complexities of it.

He's a commentator's dream. 'He doesn't look particularly immobile today, harhar'. feck off.

Glad to see a host of constructive comments that might actually inform people like me about these guys I have on idea about. Oh wait...

Shit movement (from the name).

He is (or at-least was until recently) a Juve player and than partially owned by them. I have a good friend who is a big fan of Juve and watched him on Serie B when he was on loan. AT the beginning he was entusiastic about his career.

This guy, along with Insigne and Berardi, are the future star strikers for Italy. I doubt he'll get into the team ahead of Balotelli and Rossi for this WC but he should be staking a claim by the time the next big tournament comes around.

I am quite surprised by the season he is having. He had great season for Pescara in Serie B two years ago, but every striker flourishes under Zdenek Zeman, so it is not saying much. Last season at Genoa he started quite well, but then did not show much for a long time.

Whenever I see him he does not look spectacular. His touch, his hold-up play and passing are nothing special. He has pace and works extremely hard, though. His scoring record this season is amazing, underlining his finishing ability. And Torino's counter attacking football suits his characteristics very well. I think he might struggle playing for a team with a different approach or/and against opponents that sit back and do not offer many spaces. Looking forward to see if he can maintain thisform next season - whereever he might play.

Sky: BVB sporting director Michael Zorc is in Turin today to negotiate with Juventus over €15-20m transfer of Ciro Immobile

My guess is Ramos in the beginning at least. Then it depends on the performances. However, the point of buying both of them, I think, would be to add more depth into the attack, instead of building it around 1 player like now. That suggests there will be no certain starter but a competition for the place between the two.
Ramos does seem like the better player to me though. That said, I hadn't watched any of them before this season.

Who's likely to start next season, Ramos or Immobile?
I don't think Ramos is the striker to win them titles, although he has done okay with Hertha. Immobile, if they get him, might be the main striker with Ramos more of a back-up.

Klopp and Watzke have said already that we'll change our style without Lewandowski. Therefore, it does not matter at all if Ramos or Immobile (if he joins at all) would be better in our current system.

According to Di Marzio Dortmund are meeting with Juventus right now. Could be a great buy for them, I've been very impressed with him this season.

it would seem they have....I wonder if hes a replacement for an outgoing player?

SZ reporting that a bid has been placed now.

He would most probably be their main striker with Ramos as a back-up, at least that's how I see it.

Saw him in last year's under 21s tournament and he was with Insigne, Verratti and Florenzi one of Italy's better players IMO.

Yeah, I thought Dortmund had already signed the Colombian Adrian Ramos as Lewandowski's replacement. The Asprilla-esque Ramos should do quite well with Dortmund's attacking style and their midfield service.
Dortmund have said many times that there won't be one Lewandowski successor but that we'll buy two strikers. Ramos was/is one of them, Immobile potentially the other one.

I just realized something. If AC Milan signs this player, then they will have an Immobile Honda in attack!
