I don't think any supporter would disagree with that assertion, mate — most, if not all, of us would love for the club to sign premier talents like Sancho and De Ligt and De Jong and so forth rather than players who're a bit below their potential level. However, we will have to strengthen on multiple fronts considering the right side of our attack isn't the only prominent issue, so realistically United is not going to prioritize someone who will decimate the club's transfer record this summer. Mind, it would also be in the player's interest to stay at Dortmund for at least 2 more seasons — he's only 18 and playing regular first-team football (among his biggest motivations for signing with the club), and has no reason to move while he's featuring in one of the most dynamic attacks around under Favre and being mentored by a resurgent Reus, especially to United when we haven't been the best at developing youngsters in recent years — which is a bit unfortunate.

On a side note, we should also be looking at Jović, who's on loan at Frankfurt. One of the more impressive strikers in his age group, and considering we aren't going to just jettison Lukaku in favor of a proven player, signing Jović with an eye over the next 2-3 years would be a sensible approach given his reported clause is quite reasonable (though Frankfurt do have an exclusive option/agreement with Benfica).
Fair point. But I do believe that with a manager with a progressive mindset, or one of any kind performing at an exceptionally high level really, you tend to hide your flaws much more than you would otherwise. So I'm hopefully we'll see that happening in the future and hence instead needing a new 11 as many here feel we do, we'll only need 2-3 key additions in the summer. With the right sales, and target sthat the heirarchy can truly believe, and many a punt in another area, we could pull off such a deal.

But the manager has to really value an exceptional talent in that case. It's only way this kind of transfer happens. Currently I don't we have that situation nor is our team all that enticing for young stars

I think we'll go for Sancho personally due to him being English and exceptionally talented. But I dont think he's gonna move for a couples of seasons yet

The same was said of Ousmane. I think the right amount and promising Sancho proper minutes would do it. It's not like going to Barca or real he will no that we have no proper rw

1st time I have seen him for the USA and wondered what he would be like with lesser players but thought he was superb last night, the only reason would take Sancho ahead of him is only because hes English to help the home grown rule but I reckon would cost us a lot more money from Dortmond, certainly would improve our starting 11 for me. plus the fact he will sell a massive amount of shirts for the club seems a no brainer.

We should be all over this. He's perfect for our RW. Good with both feet, goes wide and cuts in. He's not the finished product yet, but given game time he will be.

Having watched him a couple of times and also live on stadium I must say he has looked quite ordinary. I haven 't been able to see where his 'edge' is - with Sancho you can see he has balance, pace and tricks.

Pulisic does not seem an improvement to me - and thats what we need.

He looks decent but I'm not sure what's going to set him apart from a number of other tricky forwards coming up through the ranks. Sancho looks much better.

It seems like the possibility of him being the first American football star is a bigger draw than his talent, which makes him the perfect fit for us.

He's a tidy player with good pace, seems better through the middle than out wide IMO.

He'd be an upgrade to anybody we have outwide currently on the right, but i'm not sure he's the right target? I'd rather Sancho as I think he has a higher ceiling.

I've seen very little of him but from what I have I don't think he's good enough just yet and he's another player who doesn't look like a Mourinho player.

We are not going to go for players like him or Sancho whilst Mourinho is in charge. They are not functional players. Sad but true

How about Sancho and Pulsiic both aren't that amazing? Some players are good but Dortmund good. Not everyone has to play in Chelsea, etc.

good with both feet... can cut ... what like a real winger? no chance of us buying him then

Attackers always look better when they play in a team like Dortmund or Liverpool. Especially wingers. That being said, Pulisic and Sancho are probably our best bet at getting a promising right winger.

Why do everytime I see pulisic that he reminds me much more of a CAM rather than a winger?

Do the people who say he is a RW assume that to be his best position? I haven't truthfully watched him much but him as a winger always looks like a square leg in a round hole.

Sancho for is the other way around - looks like a winger all day & everyday.

People are comparing him and Sancho but it's hard to say how they will develop, both are still very young and they are both very talented and both were good last night. The thing with Sancho is that Dortmund and England are both set up to attack, to have the ball, to play the modern fluid style and tempo, so he's thrived appearing in both shirts, either of these kids would likely struggle here like our own young forwards, I mean Lingard was good in that fluid attack last night but he's been nothing but a grinder for us in the few appearences he's made this season.

Or like Mkhi. This would be my main concern.

We need to stay away from Dortmund players, they are best left as big fish in small ponds.
Hummels? Lewandowski? At Dortmund as young players, moved on/up, worked out fine.

I agree some players don't take the step up you hoped for but if we wait, someone else steps in and either we buy them for shedloads a few years later OR miss out entirely.

Good scouts, a good manager/judge of talent should be able to decide if the player can make the step to United/the PL..... then help them settle.

New manager, new style?

Should try and hijack the deal, he supports Man Utd so we'd have a good chance.

Hazard off to Real?

Unlikely; they play different positions. Also think a potential transfer ban would scupper any notion of Chelsea selling Hazard.

Would also be absolutely thrilled to get Willian out of the team and if Barca are still interested here's hoping we cash in in January as well.

If Hazard doesn't sign a new contract, I can't see him staying past this season. There's surely no chance that Chelsea will sell Hazard in January though.

What an inept bunch of morons we have running this club if we let a talent like Pulisic go to Chelsea while we don't have a single RW/RM at the club. The story of our demise.

Maybe we'll get a better one like the bloke keeping him out the team?

I'm sure Pulisic must be very good but from a number of accounts he isn't the worldbeating talent the caf constantl makes him out to be. Is he?

I hardly doubt so. We'd probably continue with our marvelous options of Mata/Lingard/Rashford.

He is comfortably better than anyone we have at RW, and the price mentioned is not even that high.

Where is the Chelsea transfer ban stuff coming from? I thought it was City that were in trouble.

New manager, new style?

That should be the plan but we will wait until top 4 is mathematically impossible so the cheap ass Glazers can pay Mourinho off for the least amount possible, and by then chances are Pulisic will be at a rival.

Hazard off to Real?

No, Pulisic will be an upgrade on Willian/Pedro for a manager like Sarri.

Sancho will cost more than double the fee being touted for Pulisic and we still need a CB that will cost through the nose and a DM who wont come cheap either, that lot would cost us a Real Madrid Galactico 2.0 summer kind of outlay, no way the glazers will be willing to foot that bill.

It's very early to speculate about how much of an outlay were going to be able to make. If we get someone managing this team well, the investment required is nowhere near the amount that people here seem to think is. Also if a new manager does join you may see a lot of players leaving which would open up a greater room to maneuver for us in the market.

Personally I'll take a RW, CB and playmaker next summer, as long as we get a new attack minded manager. Other position would depend on outgoings. For example we'd get a good few for Lukaku in case another manager wants a new CF.

Reminds me of Lingard.

Good feet in tight spaces, plays in between the lines, drives with the ball and has good awarness of those around him.

Good player, but not what we need on the right, in my opinion, especially as we already have Jesse.

We need someone more direct - a Martial, but on the right.

Sancho, from what ive seen, fits that profile. Zaha would also be a good addition.

We pretty much want the same additions whether it's a DLP or an attacking playmaker, if Sancho is the RW buy we'd be looking at close to £300M in total outlay in the summer, even with sales I just can't see it being sanctioned by the Glazers.

I'd take Pulisic. He plays nice football. His numbers aren't great in terms of goals/assists etc though. He'd essentially be another Mata for us. It would say a lot about our ambitions if we went for Pulisic rather than Sancho who's knocked him out of Dortmund's team and who's clearly going to be one of the best players in Europe.
