What? Both Gotze and Hazard Madrid bound? How many of such players do they fecking need? We can have Ozil in that case, or Kaka

I'm sure we'll find some young talents who won't cream themselves over Barca and Real eventually.

A young midfielder with world class potential.... We wont be in the running.

You mean like how we didn't invest £20m in an up and coming midfielder named Anderson a few years back? Or like we didn't invest the same in Jones and De Gea. Lets face it, if the right player comes along and they want to come here, we'll stump up the cash. SAF said that Ozil had his heart set elsewhere, it wasn't through a lack of trying or due to a large price tag.

Isn't one a central midfielder and the other wide player? Why exactly can't they get both?

Both are offensive midfielder capable of playing out wide although Hazard is much more suited to a wing role. At least that's what I have heard because I have barely seen either of them play.

So if Real get both of them, they will have Kaka,Ozil,Goetze and Hazard with Ronaldo and Di Maria on the wings and Benzema and Higuain + a new forward this summer (might be Neymar).

Might be interesting to see how they line up.

-------------Ronaldo-------------

Ozil---------Goetze--------Hazard

-------Sahin------Alonso---------

Seriously, what the feck.

Even Nuri Sahin for that instance. Apart from injuries doesn't play that much of a vital role as Alonso or Coentrao. The lad could've been great for us in the center of the park. Scholes' replacement.

Christian Eriksen - I have seen him twice and he is an excellent player. Would love him at united.

They have Benzema and Higuain. They are both not going to come of the bench given how quality they are. Mourinho has enough options at his disposal. And hypothetically speaking they do go with those players in the starting lineup, it will be like this:

Ronaldo

Hazard-------Ozil-------Gotze

Sahin---------Alonso

So we are linked to him again today.

I have heard of him over the past year but I really don't know anything about him.

Would this get the Caf thumbs up?

would certainly get my vote. Terrific talent. Unlike many attacking midfielders he can play in a deeper role and therefore could fit in to a 4 4 2 system we prefer. he has a terrific eye for a pass knows where the goal is.

He is not the best option for us out there but he certainly might be the cheaper one. When compared to Gaitan, I would pick Eriksen hands down. He is younger and has more potential and he actually plays centrally. None of this "he is a winger but he can also play centrally" crap with this fella. We are in need of a central midfielder desperately and if we are looking for a cheap option, then he is our guy.

And what makes you think this guy will be cheap? Is he not Ajax's star player or next best thing? In which case he won't be leaving for cheap.

This kid reminds me of Anderson before he came to United, you reckon he can gel more efficiently or not, as one could argue that the transition from Dutch league to the Premier is better than the other route Portuguese to PL, would anyone agree?

So it would be the better move?

He was being touted for £20m earlier this month. I know valuations will change but what I meant was when he is compared to Hazard and Götze, he is definitely cheaper.

Was always going to happen after the tie was announced.
I think he has said he wants to go to Spain

It's a sad part of football that we consider players at 20m cheap. What's football coming to?

Today's transfer fees are so high due to inflation that those days of signing someone for prices as little as £5-10m are all gone. You have to spend a little big if you want someone very good.

How did we get Vidic and Evra, now that kicks your theory out the door

Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen has revealed the Red Devils are tracking Ajax playmaker Christian Eriksen.

Injuries to Tom Cleverley and Anderson, while Darren Fletcher has been forced to take an extended break with illness, have left United lacking depth in midfield.

Sir Alex Ferguson is yet to replace the retired Paul Scholes, and so a creative player is top of the priority list for a January or summer bid.

And 19-year-old Eriksen is being monitored at Old Trafford.

"This is a player that is on our radar," Meulensteen told Voetbal International.

"But that is to be expected. If people weren't looking, no-one would ever have an opinion on these players.

"It is true that a player like Eriksen would fit our transfer policy.

"He is being strongly linked with us, but to suggest that we are about to make a move is not true."

Rene is a muppet. Was talking a lot about Sneijder as well :(

Javier Hernandez disagrees ;)

I don't think the transition from one league to another is much of an issue, Anderson was an AM at Porto, and was great in his first season with us playing more of a CM role. Any transitional problems would surely have been more evident in his first season than in later ones.

I wouldn't forsee any similar issues with Eriksen, he is a quality player who is comfortable on the ball and very direct. I cannot see why he would not fit into our style of play.

Key bit of text from Rene.

You think SAF wouldn't warn Rene if he kept on saying these things in public. It's a calculated strategy - yes we are always looking for players, sure one of them is called Eriksson but no we haven't made an approach. This is just testing the water.

Eriksson is a player wanted by many so in this beauty contest there is no harm saying some positive things.

he said we were in for their 'keeper too

Where? Didnt he just say we were monitoring him, like we obviously did for several keepers and have admitted we monitor the portuguese league in the past too. We arent in for every player we keep an eye on

Why can't they snub Real or Barca, like Bale and Ramsey snubbed us?

WHY?????
