Christian Eriksen | Signs for Manchester United

Shame if he doesn’t join, think he’d be great for us, but if he stays at Brentford then he’s not really up for the stress of big time football anymore which is fair enough after what he’s been through.

Seems to be a lot of carry on for a squad player.

I don't care how good he is or might be for United. If he's seriously mulling over coming to us because Brentford have put an offer on the table also then he doesn't want to play for us badly enough.

Isn't that what we were trying to avoid?

We should only sign players who are hungry to play for us.

I think he wants to play in the Champions League. That's why he left Spurs after all. That and money of course.

Look, I don't know the guy from Adam, his feelings included, but if I were his GP, I would strongly advise he stay away from football entirely. But if he insists on playing again, he should do so in an environment as stress-free as possible. Brentford would be the logical choice in that scenario as the pressure/expectations on him will be minimal compared to United - where the fans and media are far less forgiving of poor performances.

I'm not saying that is the case with Eriksen, only that it's worthy of consideration for a guy prone to heart failure.
I'm no doctor but wasn't
Is this how we have to reference quotes from now on? Because I have absolutely no idea how big Rudyard Kipling’s dick is. I mean, we can be pretty sure he’s packing some serious heat, but….

Interesting, thanks for posting this.

How safe would it be to assume he was diagnosed with something similar to the bolded, given he showed no signs of a repeat incident whilst playing for Brentford last season?

Seeing as he was able to resume playing at a high level there's a good chance that was the case. All the other reasons for having a defib implant don't seem conducive to playing sports professionally.

Thanks for the info. Out of interest, where did you get it. A proper American doctor, I hope.

My dog had heart problems, so I read a bit of stuff in order to understand the cardiology reports.

We didn't break our wage structure to bring him in in January so would imagine he was on somewhere between 30-40k a month max. We have now offered what has been described as the biggest contract in our history, we can't compete with United on wages and aren't a club that gets involved in auctions so would imagine he has been offered that max we are comfortable with and that's that.
Any source to prove his wages at Brentford? Tried to find it but never able to.

No it is an educated guess based on Ivan Toney and Pontus Jansson earning around the £20k mark in the Championship, so factoring in wage hikes for getting in the Premier League and that he would definitely be on the top of the scale is where the £30-40k figure comes from. The not breaking our wage structure is info direct from the director of football Phil Giles.

Yeah I wouldn’t be so sure that Eriksen would accept that kind of range wages. Beside, his contract at Brentford was a short contract so paying 100k p/w for 4-5 months wouldn’t be too much or probably less than 5m for 4 months.

Was there ever a reason (or likely explanation) given for his arrest? I’ve seen an absolute ton of them due to my job, and the underlying reasons are hugely varied. It could be, for example an acute situation due to an inflammation of the myocardium or the sac surrounding the heart, or it could be a structural issue within the muscle itself, particularly the way the electrical impulses travel between the different nodes and channels.

Yep, can't blame him if he does this. Family are settled as I understand it in London. Amazing that he's come back and is playing again. Would love him here too, his set piece delivery is excellent which we have been missing. Maybe looks at us and Bruno as an either or too and just wants to play.

Strange then that he went and played league football in another country if he and his family were settled in London?

I could be and likely am wrong but seemed like he was pushed out at Tottenham, there was loads of crap going on back then. I take your point though.

From what I remember he ran his contract down, said he felt overvalued in the transfer market and wanted a new challenge. He came out with it just before the CL final.

He did not leave on good terms at all with the management.

He would have only recently moved his family from Milan to London and got his children into school. So moving again after only 6/7 months can be a bit of a push.
Doubt that will stop him though

I imagine he is settled in London as he has a young family and London is a great place to live if money isn't an issue.
I do think as well that a career for a professional footballer is relatively short and if a player is good enough to be in high demand it must be very tempting to go and play for a number of big clubs.

They would have been living in London for quite a while before he went to Milan....he would've anyway.

That isn't relevant though is it? Moving family and kids to Milan, then 2 years later move them back to London, then 6 months later move them again.
If you have kids then you'll know that isn't easy, especially with school, so it will be something he would have to consider

I never said it was easy but given the nature of what he does for a very good living that can be the life for a professional footballer.
Look at Ronnie....three different countries in as many years.

Pretty sure Ronnie did not move his kids after 6 months, pretty sure most footballers don't

Apparently his deal with Brentford ends July 1st or something like that. See if that makes a difference.

Absolutely no chance we are/were paying him anywhere near £100k, you have to remember money wasn't a deciding factor on his return and pretty sure it won't be this time either.

Another total non-update from Fraudizio

He puts these out because people are constantly spamming him for updates, yet there won’t be an update every day. So he’d put out these types of tweets and people moan there’s nothing new. Of course there’s nothing new, these things take time

This is the issue

He didn't tweet that. He usually says something in his interview/podcast/update videos. These accounts post bits and pieces from his "updates".
