He's been 'pondering' our offer for a long time
Dare I say it...Di...M...
Dare I say it...Di...M...
I was just pointing out that your assertion was shite, there is always risk in everything.Good point, better not sign any more humans then.
I'm ready for robot-football anyways!
But really, what's your point? He's clearly been cleared by all football relevant doctors as otherwise he wouldn't just have played half a season with Brentford + plus played well enough to get our interest.
The latter is fairly simple, he hasn’t been particularly good for 5 years now
Didn’t know he was Ivan ToneyYeah well apart from last year where he almost single handedly kept Brentford up?
Didn’t know he was Ivan Toney
I literally answered this in the post above yours. Are you saying he wasn't good for them last season?
He was fine at Brentford. Certainly nothing anyone would be talking about if he wasn’t a feel good story.
No shit there's a risk in everything, kind of obvious Sherlock.I was just pointing out that your assertion was shite, there is always risk in everything.

Didn't he create the third most chances since he arrived at Brentford, or something like that? I think it's more than just a feel good story, he's definitely got something to offer.I was just pointing out that your assertion was shite, there is always risk in everything.

What a load of shite - rubbish for the last 5 years is beyond laughable. He was brilliant for Brentford last season.I literally answered this in the post above yours.
Find my post where I say he was rubbish. Cheers. What a load of shite - rubbish for the last 5 years is beyond laughable. He was brilliant for Brentford last season.
Maybe if you said he’s not good enough to be apart of our ascension you’d have a point, typical hyperbolic nonsense though.
He’s not someone who has ever relied on pace, he’s a much more cerebral player.Christian Eriksen is a fantastic footballer who plays the game beautifully. My only concern would be his age as I would prefer players likely to have a longer peak with us, but you also shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, and getting him in on as free seems a no-brainer. I actually can't believe that there is a player struggling to choose between us and Brentford (although I recognise there are specific circumstances regarding his family being settled in London). He's about ten times better than all our central midfielders except Bruno, but Bruno;s been awful for a while.
Eriksen wouldn't have been a priority for me, but if we can get him, we really should.

Yep, people put money on him moving to Brentford. This morning United were favourites to sign him with sky bet and paddy power, now, this evening, Brentford are favourites. Anything happen?
Quick, to the forums to moan!REALITY — Just today, Phillips to city done 42 plus add ons. City’s 3rd signing after Haland and Alvarez. City are back to back champions.
Also, Jesus to Arsenal done 45m plus add ons. It’s Arsenal 4th signing after Marquinhos, Turner, Vieira. Arsenal finished 5th last season and narrowly missed out on CL.
Whilst we still wait to see if free agent Christian Eriksen will agree to sign for us or not to become our first signing of the window. Manutd finished 6th and had one of the their worst seasons ever in the PL.
Where should I go ? Your home ?Quick, to the forums to moan!
Did you want Jesus at United? Or Phillips? I'd have taken Phillips but realistically he's not as big of an upgrade as we need and while city can afford to spend 40 million on average squad filler, given our situation, we can't. Who knows what will happen for us but moaning because arsenal have bought an average cf with a questionable goals record and city have bought a bench warming cm seems weird.REALITY — Just today, Phillips to city done 42 plus add ons. Sorry, don’t get me wrong. I want Christian Eriksen at united. I rate him highly infact. My post is more about our pathetic transfer window so far where we are yet to make even one signing. I used the Eriksen deal just as an example of our struggles.Did you want Jesus at United? Or Phillips? Well, seeing as I would have to put you on ignore to not read this, yeah you might as well.Where should I go ? Your home ?

I come to the Caf to read up on the latest news, but all I read are boring posts like yours.
In fairness it is tedious to hear people moan about other clubs signing random players that we don't want and using it as proof that we're poorly run. We are poorly run but City signing Phillips and Arsenal signing Jesus has feck all to do with that. Can I suggest if you want the latest news you use a news source and not a fan forum.

A relevant thread. Transfer chat perhaps? "Have we signed anybody yet" thread?Where should I go ? Your home ?
Agree with all this. We do seem to be falling further behind and we all know why (poor decisions at high levels). It just winds me up that every thread turns into a moanfest about how much better run city and Liverpool are than US, even when its not particularly relevant.Fair point. That other clubs are improving their squads (at least as they believe it to be the case) is no proof that United are a poorly run club or that we're not on the cusp of improving our squad, but it is also true that as of this point if time we have fallen further behind clubs that are already well ahead of us in terms of squad quality.
We have arguably closed the gap with these clubs in terms of managerial quality with the appointment of ETH, but as things stand right now we're falling further behind clubs City and Liverpool in terms of squad strength. This is fact...not baseless moaning. However, we do have until September 1 to strengthen the squad, arguably plenty of time to close that gap. Just for the sheer spectacle of it here, it would be fascinating to see United continue to hold on without any new signings until August 31, undoubtedly to save the 4-5m or whatever the difference is in the valuations of our transfer targets.
Mate, if you want the news, follow some news outlet. If you want entertainment go watch love island. As it’s been said before, it’s a forum. Get your priorities straight in life. Stop crying, oh I didn’t get my entertainment or my news. Boo fecking hoo.Well, seeing as I would have to put you on ignore to not read this, yeah you might as well.

I hope they aren't working overtime, that'd make it even worse. Imagine working 14hours per day for a month to end up with nothing. Work smarter, not hardertransfers don’t work like that though.Just because other teams are signing people quicker the circumstances are totally different player to player. Knowing us were probably waiting until we release our kit to announce or something like that. I’m sure they are working overtime to bring players in.. they know they have to invest in this squad and that the fans are at breaking point .
Give it time.

I’ll be honest, I just named the first player that came to my head that I remembered impressed me.…..who also didn’t single-handedly keep us up
Very true we can't seem to make anything happen in the transfer market, but not getting Eriksen is not a disaster at all. We need to strenghten other areas, Eriksen would be just a squad player for us.
Yep, I got that, I understand how betting works. I was wondering if there was a reason people started putting money on him going to Brentford now, usually this happens when there’s been a bit of news.Yep, people put money on him moving to Brentford.
