Lads get a grip...Haaland has been going to City for months...deals are lined up all the time. My point is we knew for certain we would be down 4 midfield players by June...4....we knew this guy would be available...this should have been a no brainier. We either sound the guy out early and if it’s feasible get it done or we move on quickly. That does not sound like it is the case...it sounds like we were “monitoring” the situation and now someone else has shown an interest we have jumped into action - sound familiar? Same old uncertain, amateurish approach to deals - Chelsea , Pool, City...fuk monitoring...you don’t even hear about monitoring...if they want a player they go get them. If they can’t, they move on. And that must help get the deals done- when a team has confidence in a player and says we want you. Diaz, Nunez, Haaland - sold a project that needed them.
It’s like Utd have to have to have to have 3 targets for each position and line them up at the same time to try drive the price down for one of them. Result- well so far...we end up with the wrong player for the wrong price. Look at de jong, poor ETH trying to sell a project when it looks like we don’t have to money to back it up.
The frustration is just so bad because you see it happening in slo mo and can’t do anything about it.
