Christian Eriksen | Signs for Manchester United

I reckon there has been a potential u turn and Eriksen is not quite so sure now, maybe he is waiting for FDJ/Ronaldo outcomes. Verbal agreements can always change of course.

Something is definitely a miss though, it benefits no one delaying announcement (club hasn’t even announced the verbal agreement) and however stringent a medical can be based on his circumstances, it should have been completed by now surely.
Plus always some pap photo of x player arriving/leaving a medical…but nope nothing.

I hope I’m just being overly pessimistic but this is a strange one.

U turn my arse. We just take ages to get these things over the line. In this case there may be necessary delays.

Have said before, if he does come here as more of a squad player then his experience will be very useful in the Europa League in particular; a competition i can't help but think we should be looking to win.

Maybe all the cases of de Jong, Martinez and Eriksen are all now finished. We wait for the final paperworks with Ajax so we can anounce all three of them together for maximum effect. Because after Barcelona, our executives flew to Amsterdam and now back home.
One can dream, you know.

Getting a bit sus this.

Apart from the initial ‘he’s agreed to join United’ about 10 days ago the info has been non existent

This is low-key one of our stranger transfer deals in a while. Wonder where the announcements of 2 weeks ago came from if this deal was so far off.

I thought the medical was on Monday and Tuesday. I hope they haven't found something serious :nervous:

Announce Eriksson!

Will be announced either today, with Martinez, or by the end of the week.

Both players will link up with the team in Australia.

Relax.

I'm sure it will happen, just odd in its timings given he's not playing for anyone/would presumably make sense to integrate new players quickly.

I assume he’d already missed the cut off for Thailand so as long as he joins up for Australia then nothing lost?

Looking online now most top sources and convinced and agree that this will be announced by the end of the week (Ducker etc) so I’m not concerned.

He’ll be a great signing.

I’m not yet concerned, but it is annoying that we can’t get these deals done sooner. The season starts in a little more than 3 weeks, and the whole squad is disrupted by late arrivals. I understand that this year is a transition period, and that we need to be patient with some things, but it is a huge advantage for the clubs that get their business done early. Even just the media attention must be a huge burden for ETH.

I'm just guessing.

For big organization like Man Utd, player is a major asset. This is the first time we are going to sign a player with pacemaker in his heart.

Maybe the legal, insurance or medical department need more time to sort things out.

Probably true but there's actually no real way of knowing that for fact.

It's an unnecessary signing.

I have nothing against him as a human being, but I just don't think he has the engine to be implemented successfully in a EtH team. The only way that I could possibly see it working is if Ten Hag gives Eriksen license to put the brakes on.

Eriksen has a pacemaker. If the EtH training and match play is as intense as we're all lead to believe, and Eriksen goes at it full pelt, we might as well have an ambulance a part of our entourage.

It's strange that Ten Hag would be interested in him. Even at the peak of his powers, Eriksen wasn't exactly an energizer bunny.

I'd pull out of the deal and leave him to going back to Brentford.
Buzzzz. Wrong answer.
Blind played with a pacemaker in an ETH team
