Christian Eriksen | Signs for Inter

Lets say Spurs have already accepted that they need to sell Eriksen this window rather than lose him for nothing next summer and have identified Bruno Fernandes as his replacement. Maybe they see selling us Eriksen as a necessary evil that gives them a free run at Fernandes.

Yep this is soooooo on

Whether it can be done remains to be seen but I'm confident something is happening here

If I was Spurs hierarchy I'd be quietly confident of getting top 4 even without Erikson. They are going to be 3rd as it stands and swapping out Erikson for Bruno wouldn't change that while appeasing Poch and shipping out an Erikson who's demotivated.

The stadium payments need balancing too.

Don’t get me started on the whole player numbers at the club they’re a mess... but Shaw was 3 originally but requested 23 in his second season.

Why? Bigger number take the focus off of his fat ass or something?

I'd love this to be on, Eriksen is quality, knows the leaugue etc.

Will Levy sell to us for a 'reasonable' price though... £50-£70m or so, i'd be all in for this, but if it's the £130 someone mentioned a few pages back, i can't see it happening.

@InLevyITrust @SquishyMcSquish @balaks I'm sorry if you guys have been asked this before, but do you genuinely see Spurs selling him to Utd? I reckon there's absolutely no chance of it happening.

I'd say that there is a chance yes - Eriksen clearly just wants to leave now and we really need to sell him and very quickly to enable us to get money in to get a replacement. As much as selling to Utd would not be ideal, if you guys are interested and put the money up and nobody else does then we will 100% sell him to you.

Why not do Levy a favour.

Throw 100m at him for Eriksen AND Alderweireld. Hell we could even capatilise on the whole Argie connection with Poch and give them Rojo too. Even throw Smalling in the deal. Hell even Darmian now they are short of a right back.
We would trim our squad whilst strengthening their depth. It would be a bargain on both sides.
If any of our lot dont want to move to Spurs then we just have to remind them of the Cathedral City stadium they will be playing in every week to twist their arm.

I’m clinging onto your every word mate

Do you want anyone from our team that doesn’t include DDG and Pogba in exchange?

Even if we get him signed on for next year, Pogba out for 150m+ and Eriksen on a free... that could go some way of easing the pain.

My mum reckons it's all a smokescreen for the deadline day signing of Hairy Kane for 120 Mills.

Mata 2.0, do not want

just covering my bases so I'm not too disappointed when he doesn't arrive.

Yeah cant see this happening in 3 days somehow. Lets face it we arent exactly quick with transfers and we are dealing with Spurs and Levy. Id be amazed if it happens.

Whether this transfer happens or not, I'm unsure about, however, people also need to realise that Spurs needs to get Eriksen out is a just as much as we need him in. Spurs need to recoup the money to spend on their own targets. So yes, it can happen in the time remaining.

We’re always confident yet barely sign anyone. It’s not happening. Levy will take us to the cleaners.

no not necessarily. They are linked with Fernandes as are we. We can back off Fernandes and let them have a free run at it. Even if we aren't truly interested in Fernandes we could drive his price up. Levy doesn't hold all the cards here, he can get money for a player in last yr of contract, get a free run at his replacement

They've already flogged Tripper, who's been a creative outlet for them. Getting rid of their best creative outlet and replacing him with an unknown quantity is very risky. Could pay off long term, but short term they'll struggle. This isn't some average player. Eriksen tops the stats in the Premier League as well. He and De Bruyne are miles clear of everyone else in the league. It'll be a huge blow to them. It's why we should do everything we can to sign him, solves a massive issue with our squad while weakening Tottenham significantly. It's a win, win from our perspective.
