Alves - 36 years old
Thiago Silva - 34
Cavani - 32
di Maria - 31

How long would those last in the competitive heat and pace of the Prem? And di Maria didn't exactly sparkle when he played in the Prem.

Yours is the classic case of projecting undeserved 'glamour' onto foreign-named players simply because they get paid lots of money by a sugar-daddy club. Take Neymar, for example - a prima donna who is talented but nowhere near as good as some like to think and - like PSG as a whole - flatters to deceive. Would I swap him for Kane? No way Jose.

I stand absolutely by my opinion that PSG would not be a top 4 club in the Prem.
Alves at 36 is better than all your fullbacks you’ve ever had and yes Neymar is a prima Donna, but come on. He already proved himself an elite player at Barca, I wouldn’t swap him for Kane either, but Neymar + Cavani is better than Kane + Alli/Son/whoever you want to put there. You’ve also conveniently avoided the fact they probably have the best young striker in the world in Mbappe. PSG would easily be a top 4 club, they are literally city, just in ligue 1.

I don't know what is amusing. Spurs fans arguing with other fans or arguing themselves in a united forum where the thread is about a player who might potentially leave to a 'sideways' club..

Also can we make a poll for the number of times GladstonSpur will mention 'stadium' this year?

It's Glaston what do you expect?

You certaintly cannot expected A well reasoned discussion from him.

This is the longest running wind up anyone can imagine - he cannot be a real person?!

I’m waiting for him to post that spurs have the highest % increase in hot dog/ walkers crisps/ programme sales at their new stadium in the WORLD!

He’s someone I would love to meet in real life - it would be intriguing!

... Anyway - of course Bayern Munich, PSG and Juventus are better and bigger teams that spurs, anyone that suggests differently is out of their mind. Come on man, get a grip on reality.

PSG in the CL … knocked out in the round of 16 for the last 3 years running. Haven't made it past the QFs in the last 6 years (and maybe more for all I know).

Top 4 in the Prem "easily"? Nah.

Anyhow, I won't comment further on all this because we've all gone way off topic for too long.

Agree to disagree. Im just surprised you think that, as they follow the exact same model as City, who have just won back to back leagues. Easily making top 4 isn’t much a of stretch of the imagination.

A move to Juve or Bayern being a sideways one from Spur

We're now comparing giants of the European game with Spurs. These clubs have been winning trophies for ages and have established themselves as top tier football clubs. Would Ronaldo move to fecking Spurs?

I rate Pochettino highly but in the grand scheme of things Spurs are on the fringes of success and outside the bracket of the big clubs.

---------Rashford
Martial -------Eriksen
Pogba --- McTominay -- Longstaff
Shaw -Lindelof -Maguire- Wan Bissaka
De Gea

That looks a decent side in all fairness, especially with a little depth:
Pepe Mata Matic Axel Pereira Romero

Well, we'll just have to disagree about this … especially re. PSG. Either Juve or Bayern might just squeak into the top 4. But PSG would be little better than mid-table … they flatter to deceive and wouldn't be able to handle the week-in and week out competitive pressure of the Prem, which is streets ahead of the cosy league that they're used to.

Contender for worst post of all time?

:lol::lol::lol:

Only Glaston would not swap Kane for Neymar.

Kane isn't fit to lace Neymar's boots.

You really are kidding yourselves if you think that PSG would have it easy in EPL.

Their midfield, Verratti aside, and their defence would have a hard day against any team from the EPL, especially away from home.

They would struggle to make top 4 in EPL, let alone winning it.

I am a red born and bred, but if I supported Spurs I would not want that swap either.

If I where supporting Spurs I would never, ever, swap Kane with Neymar.
This. Neymar may have better ability, but Kane is a hell of a player, top top quality striker and a fantastic team player as well.

And Neymar is a prick.

Easily yes, there are more than enough average for their superstars to beat on a regular basis.

Neymar is better than kane in just about every aspect.

He is also better than Kane at being a douchebag and destabilising a team.

I pick Kane every day of the week

How has this turned into the 'Kane v Neymar' thread?

Eriksen would be a very good signing for us. However, where does he play? If he comes, then I believe Pogba is off.

Possibly the no.10 role occupied by Lingard, Mata and Gomes in the 4-2-3-1 we’ve been using in pre-season (his natural position). Or, yes, in the deeper role Pogba has been occupying if he leaves, which is a role for him that tended to improve Spurs last season. He’s been played off the right enough too but that would be a bit of a waste. He has been shuttled about all over the place for Tottenham really. Pogba leaving certainly wouldn’t be the only way he fits in.

Eriksen would be a great signing in terms of the quality he brings, he's several levels above Mata or Lingard as an attacking midfielder.

I would have concerns about what that means for Pogba though. Playing them both with only Matic/McTominay as a defensive player would be pretty risky.

If we get a mobile DM, I don't see why not. Pep has played with Silva and KDB for years and their balance is great. As long as Pogba and Eriksen work hard, why not?

Eriksen is quality, but i get the feeling if we're being linked with Eriksen, Bruno & SMS, that it's got to mean Pogs is on the way out?

 I'm pretty sure it would be pretty even on a poll on here, I certainly wouldn't want Neymar if it meant we lost Kane.

Be interesting to see what the fee would be if there is legs in this, I still don't think there is.

If we get Eriksen and keep Pogba, then the question is who anchors this midfield then? The options would be McTominay/Matic/Fred

Also, game time for the likes of Pereira, Mata, Lingard and Alexis would have become scarce (unless as a RW) - Eriksen is not the type of player to be rotated often.

Do any of you actually think you’ve got a shot at Eriksen?

Yeah and we barely scrapped 4th...which is exactly my point.

PSG have better attack too. Chelsea had average team and they finished 3rd. PSG would be comfortable top 4 team.

There’s a question mark there regardless of whether Eriksen comes in or Pogba goes.

Eriksen not being the type to be rotated is a good thing.

If United went balls out and offered to raise his salary by like 50k+ then yes, because he’s human, late 20s and has a family and a short career.

But they won’t, so no.

Considering he hasn’t signed a new contract, why not?

A- Levy would want a fee similar to what Real paid for Hazard (probably more because it's Levy). A fee we cant/wont pay
B- Whether we like it or not Spurs arguably have as much chance of success in the near future as us. Both sides have about as much chance as one another of winning the PL. We're probably more likely to win a domestic cup but they're in the UCL and we're not. Unless Eriksen is money driven I cant see why he'd come here (and there's still exhibit A to deal with)
C- in 12 months he'll have his pick of sides all wanting to pick him up on a free, plus he'll pocket a nice signing on fee
