We have Liverpools old Doctor now don’t we?
It will be fine!
It will be fine!
And not a single goal. Dominating the game means nothing if you don't score.Claiming there is a risk in any game and then insinuating risk of injury is not lessened if you are rested in certain games is stupid.
It was a silly game to start him in because 1) it was a mid tier Championship team and 2) he was showing serious burnout (which was just another reason to rest him outside of the crunching tackle event).
We dominated the 45 mins with a fair few chances whilst they only had one touch in the box.
He’s naive in regards to thinking he can get away without rotation in the Prem over the long haul.
Pre-kick off the match day thread isn't riddled with ridiculous knee jerk opinions as much as it is in-game.Using posts in the matchday thread as some sort of evidence of reasonable opinion will never help any argument.
We’ve a match next week where ETH could have probably gone with a weakened midfield. That was always the most sensible game to rest Eriksen. It won’t happen now. Oh well. Shit happens. Last night’s line up for a must win cup game against Championship opposition was just fine. It’s so crazy to me the way people have wiped from their memories how often a team without the likes of Eriksen, Casemiro, Martinez and Varane would lose or draw fixtures like last night. We’ve a great manager now but even he can’t take all our best/most important players out and still cruise to victory. As ETH said, he’s not fecking Harry Potter!
I don’t think you understand what a dead rubber game is.
Eriksen wasn't the reason we scored our goal, if that's what you're suggesting. And not a single goal. Dominating the game means nothing if you don't score.
Would you say you’ve deliberately missed the point of that post?
He's playing every 3 days and looks visibly knackered. This is aside from the injury incident yesterday.Eriksen's minutes on the pitch are managed well. Since the WC break he played 77, 61, 68, 72, 83, 90 minutes in the league and 83, 57, 30, 71 in cups. People being surprised that someone plays should not matter at all. Injuries happen, we can't wrap everyone in bubble wrap.
His replacement will be Fred - the 50m regular starter for Brazil who started in our best performance of the season against Spurs. I have no idea how we’ll cope if Eriksen is indeed out for a few weeks. We’ve never beaten Leeds with Fred before.Sad thing is his replacement could be McTom who adds nothing offensively or defensively.
Eriksen wasn't the reason we scored our goal, if that's what you're suggesting.
HopefullyPrecautionary.
Eriksen wasn't the reason we scored our goal, if that's what you're suggesting.
No. Hint. We have a game in the middle of next week that is very close to being a dead rubber game.
Well he was involved in the goal tbh..
My mistake. He had a huge part in a goal right after Carroll`s stupid tackle.
Carroll went out there looking for rough challenges in the second half, you could see how he was lurking around the pitch like a linebacker, and the blame should be laid fully at his door for the outcome of Eriksen, he should be ashamed.
It would be totally unfair to blame ETH or anyone else for the action of an opposition player who cannot control himself.
That's just how he looks. Even after a 2 month break he'd still look flushed and winded after 60 minutes. He's playing every 3 days and looks visibly knackered. This is aside from the injury incident yesterday.
It's not hindsight - many were saying it before the game. Perhaps rename them as the foresight brigade.I see the hindsight brigade are in full force. No doubt some of those posters would have criticised EtH had he played a young team and lost.
Well, take Eriksen out and you don't know how we play. My point being, the fact we struggled to score for 55mins justified the need for a strong lineup.Eriksen wasn't the reason we scored our goal, if that's what you're suggesting.
Thats not because we didn't create chances though. You're acting like Eriksen is the ruthless finisher that we depend on.Well, take Eriksen out and you don't know how we play. My point being, the fact we struggled to score for 55mins justified the need for a strong lineup.
I understand what a dead rubber game is, and why it doesn’t apply to last night.
And yet I am still perfectly able to understand what the poster is trying to say. I’d go so far as to suggest that the only way you could truly misunderstand that post is if you are deliberately doing so. Which begs the question, why?
His brilliant cross field pass to Antony switched up play. Antony then assisted Cas, mctom or Fred wouldn’t of been able to play that passEriksen wasn't the reason we scored our goal, if that's what you're suggesting.
And you'd be the first to say SACK ETH when we get knocked out. It's pathetic. It's not hindsight - many were saying it before the game. Perhaps rename them as the foresight brigade.
This./And you'd be the first to say SACK ETH when we get knocked out. It's pathetic.
Blame the referee, Andy Carroll and Paul Ince for allowing such ridiculous tackling.
Stop moaning or buy the club for 5bil. Absolute useless take. But why take the risk against fecking reading. This is squarely on ETH.
It's actually bonkers to me that you can wrap your legs around somebody from behind in the modern day and not even get a yellow.This./
You shouldn’t have to rest players to protect them from what Carroll did, the press are more upset by a phantom offside call than a hatchet tackle.
