I can't see a player's confidence getting crushed completely if he doesn't do well in a 15 minute cameo on Friday. If it does, then he doesn't have the minerals.
I'm sure Amorim will make it clear there are no expectations and anything he does well will be a positive. Just go out and play.
He looks physically ready, from what I read he's been training with the 1st team, so why not give him a go? Amorim started with Mainoo up front last game, which tells you all you need to know about how much he currently rates the other options. I think he makes the bench on Friday and hopefully he gets a few minutes.

Yeah there is zero expectation on him, anything he could offer would be a bonus. My gut feeling is that IF he had been in consideration it would have probably broke. I fully expect him to play for U21's instead.

I dont see why, given all the other issues, he would not be in consideration to play some part in an FA cup fourth round at Old Trafford. Even to just sit on the bench.

We've given plenty of young players minutes in the past and it worked out well enough. Ferguson did it plenty too so I don't get the panic from posters to giving him minutes.

Using him for 15 mins when we need an impact is a win win.

The big difference between SAF and now is the situation we’re in. Fergie very rarely did it when we were struggling.

I dread to think what would happen to the lads confidence if he made a first team appearance and failed (because he will, barely played for the U21s he isn’t ready yet, like most things we need more patience)
Yeah, but the best players play very little U21s football. Rashford, Greenwood, Garnacho and Mainoo have like less than 30 combined starts in the U21s. I don't think we should start him, but in the last 10 minutes, if we are chasing a game, we can use him as a last throw of the dice. That will probably be better for his confidence.

You mean like Barca played Ansu Fati and ruined him?

I dont know if I want any young talent brought into this total mess we currently have

As for "play him last 20 minutes" - unless we are winning 3-0 against Leicester by 70th (very unlikely) why do you think it is a good idea to put the pressure of turning a game around or seeing slim win through, on the shoulders of a 17yo?
Because we have two shit strikers and he needs time to see if he can step up that’s why I said try last 20 mins whether winning or losing. 10 mins not long enough to show anything. Other players have played at 17, Rooney was even 16 when he was tested.

Yeah completely agree
