Seriously, I came on here thinking their may be a positive update or a few comments celebrating his goals for the U-18s instead I see a dumpster fire.U18 player written off.... The CAF never fails to entertain

Who are these generational talents that don't play youth football? Greenwood, Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, Pogba, Ravel have all played extensively at U18 level. Don't think anyone is arguing Chido's a bigger talent than those players. Rooney's was arguably one of the greatest teenagers of all time and he played FAYC.His performances for our youth teams.
He doesn’t stand out particularly and comes across as being freakishly big for his age, which he will lose in the coming years as the other, smaller boys also become young men.
If he was that good, he’d be playing every game for the u21s and doing well, and he isn’t. Generational talents, that some people seem to be insinuating that he might be, don’t really play youth football because they’re too good and this lad doesn’t even come close to that level of talent.
And the essentially said the above - he’ll fall away as he starts to play with people equally as strong or stronger than him. He’ll be a footballer but just not at a competitive United
How is merely giving a player an opportunity overhyping him? Used to see loads of people giving out about Pogba not doing the business at youth level (depite his obvious talent) but praising the likes of Ryan Tunnicliffe. Pogba likely just found it too easy so wasn't fully engaged/challenged. Of course there's a gulf between 18s football and senior but he essentially became the highest U18s scorer ever as a 16 year old. He's scored 10 goals against a Liverpool team (albeit at a lower level). He's not a run of the mill academy striker and he's clearly a high level finisher. I admit I haven't watched him extensively but I just don't see the risk. He's not a defender whereby a poor performance could end up with a glut of goals conceded. The senior strikers are misfiring and we as a club should be giving chances to youth that are shining. Doesn't even necessarily have to be Chido. Would be just as happy seeing Ibragimov, Biancheri or one of the other youth standouts getting a chance though its clearly less risky to give a forward a chance than a defender like Godwill or even Amass.Yeah. Kind of my point, although it seems posters are going to have a go at me for wanting to drop a player at the age of 17, which is categorically not what I mean.
We, as fans, and as a United collective tend to massively over-hype any of our youngsters and I just thought I’d add my two pennies worth.
Hope I’m wrong but he’s got a long way to go
Thanks for the info.Well we haven’t had academy games for a while. He’s averaging a goal every 47 minutes for the U18s. Seven goals and one assist in seven games.
He’s been good but there’s a lot of room for improvement in his overall game. As expected, he just turned 17.
We’ll learn more when he starts getting regular minutes with the U21s.
I can't believe you've thanked him for the most generic baseline opinion that he got off of his mate. Anyone using the term "generational talent" should be automatically be banned from the Caf, it just makes people sound really stupid.Interesting. Thanks for sharing that.
We do all want to believe we've got a future Balon D'Or winner in our ranks, but sometimes it's important to realise the chances of him actually even breaking into the first team and becoming a regular goalscorer in the PL are so slim.
That goes for any youth player.
You should keep your opinions to yourself considering in your follow up post you basically say you just got this take off your mate.Im going to make a controversial call on this kid.
He won’t get close to making it at United.
Well I didn’t say that but if that’s your take on what I’ve said, so be it.You should keep your opinions to yourself considering in your follow up post you basically say you just got this take off your mate.

Apprarently it is if you look at the other responses to my heinous messageStatically speaking this ain't controversial at all.
Let's write him off then, because you weren't happy with his warm up.Seen him live at Old Trafford for a 15 minute cameo and also see a few bits and bobs. Wasn't impressed with his attitude around the field when warming up he just stood still talking to the other lads putting in the real effort.
I always look at stuff like that, spotted it with Zirskee in the first training video as well and I spotted it in Januzaj body language around the field back in the day. Bags of ability but a shitty lazy attitude.
Let's write him off then, because you weren't happy with his warm up.
Behave, Rashford’s one of the clubs top scorers of all time and getting early exposure didn’t turn Greenwood into a violent offender. He’s banging in goals for Marseille and would be ranking them up for us still if he had any decency as a human.I would say januzi, greenwood and possibly rashford are adverts of what overexposure too soon can do
I'm not doubting their quality, just their behaviourBehave, Rashford’s one of the clubs top scorers of all time and getting early exposure didn’t turn Greenwood into a violent offender. He’s banging in goals for Marseille and would be ranking them up for us still if he had any decency as a human.
Whatever one thinks of Greenwood and what he did or did not do, he is a generational talent but wont reach his full potential due to what happened.
This is a piece from Ferguson and how he viewed things like this, albeit speaking about midfielders in this instance.
