This is a misconception. He got fired because he didn't go through the proper chain of approvals for several large deals (including this one). He broke it down into several deals of smaller dollar values in order to get it approved more quickly.

Nah, seems like we're unlikely to get an official announcement until the end of the Nike deal. Seems pretty certain now though.
