Chelsea vs. Manchester United

It's a good side. I don't understand why people are complaining.

They'll complain about everything.

I think it's a balanced side. Young was in form before his injury and Kagawa is risky in this kind of game, he can go missing.

Lots of pace in there as well, I think we'll score here.

I don't have a huge problem with Young really. I'd have put him in for Valencia so we can actually do something from the wings, Januzaj on the left and Kagawa in the middle. Not Young and Valencia on the wings, they're useless as a pair.

It's an understandable side in our current transitional period coupled with the injury crisis. From an outside perspective it's very, very average - accentuated by the fact that the two worst players in the line-up are who we rely on most due to how we play.

I fear that Oscar and Hazard will destroy us unless we are on absolute top form. I would imagine that Chelsea will dominate but they aren't the strongest in the defensive department and our best hope is hitting them on the break.

I've only just tuned in, but they were heaping praise on Welbeck and Januzaj. Most pundits seem to be lining up to have a shot at Welbeck. No complaints so far. I prefer both to Jamie Redknapp.

They praise every player. Give me GNev any day.

Valencia's pace is important against the likes of Hazard. Kagawa isn't known for his tracking back - this isn't the game for him.

Young and Valencia offer defensive abilities, and for those who have forgot, we are facing Chelsea and Stamford fecking Bridge.

It's a good team that should be able to hit them on the counter a few times.

Yes, here's exhibit a of Ashley Youngs defensive abilities. Here's him busting a gut to get back and stop Jesus Navas.

That has been my attitude for most of the season, in a weird way it's a nice feeling to have.

It really isn't a nice feeling. But we may have to get used to it in the coming years.

And to think we laughed at Liverpool and mocked Wenger for going 10 years without a title (and counting...)

I'm not bothered about the starting line up. I'm used to seeing Valencia and young as first choice now. Don't expect anything else. I wish we would play Kagawa and Januzaj together more often after the way they linked up last time round and given they're both technically excellent, but there's no point being annoyed given the manager sees it differently.

Not going to follow this thread during the game, so I'll just do a few posts in advance:
Young dive
Januzaj
What a save from De Gea!
feck sake, that's Ramirez' 15th foul and he's still not booked!

The Young/Valencia defensive work thing is a total myth. That City game showed it and Valencia's failings against Everton and Spurs put the mark on it.

Yeah I wouldn't have a problem with that, but playing them both which will also I think reduce Januaj's impact is annoying. But fingers crossed.

I thought that last season alright but to be fair, he has impressed me this season and he looks like be could develop into a really good player.

Yeah, i disagree with them when they said he came in and he was class in his first season. He was good but not anything special, he's stepped it up this year.
The general sentiment about him having the potential to be among the best or was something specific said? Not watching the pre match crap.

If its the first, then No, I agree with the sentiment. He has everything in his locker to become a genuinely top player.

I think he can be a top player too, but as with all pundits they try and compare it to Messi and Souness talking about him and that he could be reaching Messi levels.

Having seen the line up im not optymistic at all. I dont know why Moyes decided to break the Kagawa -Fletcher combo.
Surprised by that too. Fletcher was excellent in the second half last week.

With Welbeck, Young, Valencia and Jones, we will struggle to string together many passes. That will make it very, very difficult to play a pressing side like Chelsea with a lot of passing ability in their side.

One game? Funny how the season before their defensive work was a factor in beating them.
