So this means they have now signed in the summer and winter:

Sterling
Aubameyang
Fofana
Koulibaly
Casedei
Hutchinson
Chukwuemeka
Cucurella
Zakaria
Slonina

Mudryk
Fofana 2
Santos
Felix
Fernandez
Madueke
Gusto
Badiashile

That is 18! new fecking signings. They still have 18 other players under contract for next season, not including Kante who is likely to sign a new one. To say this is unprecedented is not enough.

I swear they don't even need at least half of the signings they made.
The number of signings they've made since the summer is more than double the amount of wins they have this season

Well if Potter was under pressure before now, it is nothing compared what he has now and the demand that will be on him to deliver success

It'll be interesting to see how it impacts them if they don't finish in the top four now. Any idea on the wages they're paying these new players?

At this point surely they are budgeting for not finishing top 4?

Unless Boelhy is channeling his inner Peter Ridsdale and gambling everything on being in the Champions League.

Unhinged spending to build a team destined to finish 7th place.
Boehly probably thinks winning the Conference League is how you get to the Super Bowl.

Without the Nkunku deal and assuming Enzo is bought for €120m they'll only be 25m short of a round 1 billion in the last 3 seasons.

Yeah I remember the 2020 summer when everyone was skint because of covid and yet they spent a shit ton, mostly on a load of shite, but still.

Even when compared to City and us and Liverpool and whoever else, it's absolutely fecking obscene.

I didn't realise that Saudi's PIF fund is an investor in Clearlake. Guess there's enough separation that technically there's no clear conflict of interest.

So … behind the curve of their normal spending when they take over a team still then. Great!

United’s time is coming. Unless something goes horribly wrong this next window will be Gluttonous.

The PL is where the money is coming.

We just passed United on the 5 year net spend table.

Chelsea: 553m

United: 533m

There was a clear gap between United’s net spend and everyone else’s prior to that.

You'll soon come down. You have sellable assets that want to leave. We have Maguire.

This is all so stupid. The majority of big signings doesn’t live up to the expectations. Good luck moving them on 593 year contracts

1. There may be more wiggle room to that list than the 3. Mainly due to the age of some players and the sheer number of “List B” players Chelsea can claim, but I’m not sure.

It looks like you can add unlimited number of list B players up to the night before the game. Up to two new list A players before the first leg match of knockout ties, IF you have enough corresponding list B players and locally trained players. And then 3 new players from any circumstance pre knockouts beginning.

2. They are WAY more organized and focused on building a long term evolution with real structure than Roman was. He was a great caretaker of the club, and thought about the clubs well being right to the end. But as ownership entities go …. Clearlake.

And that means they are thinking WAY beyond this CL season.

PSG seem to have found it very difficult trying to get through a deal with the clowns at the bridge. Even though it seems both sides wanted it done.

This type of journalism is so funny

Ben Jacobs loves sucking up to Chelsea fans. At least with that other guy he’s a Chelsea fan who reports on Chelsea so understandable that he’s giddy about this deal. Ben Jacobs is just weird though.

Exactly if you spend 610mil you would at least expect they'd bring in an established superstar but this is all just gambling on potential. And Chelsea don't have the best track record with youngsters with huge potential these last couple of years. Mudryk and Enzo are the next big thing, I'm quite jealous actually, but so were Havertz and Werner.

So they're getting away with FFP by paying for all these deals over the length of the contracts but surely it'll impact what they can spend the next few years because they'll have massive transfer debts to pay every summer without even signing new players
