Chelsea 2018/19 - 3rd and European Champions. Sarri, not sorry

Sarris still got more points than Guardiola had same stage 16/17 amazingly. But it won't mean anything if he doesn't get right players to play his style of football and add cutting edge to the possession.

I didn't watch much of Napoli under Sarri but my impression is they played in the same way Chelsea do, only more effectively because they had better individuals. One of those individuals was Higuain, when he had this pretty spectacular season:

Seems a strange issue to raise when they're a proven partnership, of sorts.

Perhaps yes, though it was 4 years ago. In a slower league. Maybe it Will work but it’s more likely to be another relic signing. Like us and Sanchez. Sanchez was amazing a few years ago. Not even close anymore to his form of yesteryear. We’ll see

Sorry, I can't hear you from all they way back there in 6th!

Despite what you lot would like to believe, the season didn't start a month ago.

Well it did for us though, and it’s showing. You feeling the pressure?

I'm not sure where people really expected us to be this season. Above Man City or Liverpool?, surely not. Above Spurs?, maybe but we are 1 point behind them and we're above Arsenal and Man United.

This season was always going to be up and down.

Hazard was the best player in the league for the first 10 games when he was playing in a free role with a striker. Bizarre why Sarri has changed that. The whole team should be simply built around Hazard and his strengths.
I am sure that will change when they get Higuaín in. Maybe he's doing a Jose with self sabotage forcing to get who he wants

Why would he be feeling the pressure? He's a fan who posts on a forum. You ought to calm down.

So as a fan you feel no emotion towards the game? Bit weird. Maybe football isn’t for you.

Seems quite a big leap to me, if you watch the video. The way they play now is perfectly in line with the kind of goals he scored, and very few of them relied on his physique. Sanchez's loss of pace necessitates a complete change of play. I don't see how Higuain would need to play any differently than he did then - his goals are almost always about great movement and technique, rarely did he use his pace and he was never that agile to begin with.

I believe Sarri had a dig at the players in his presser, I’ll tell you what he’ll be gone before long.

If one thing Chelsea are consistent with is sacking the manager when the players cba playing.

Pressure? We're not in the title race so not really. 3rd, 4th whatever really. Top 4 is not a trophy.

It’ll sting a little if you miss out on CL again. Sarri going off on one on your players as we speak.

I predicted in Aug that Chelsea's first year under Sarri would be a 5th-7th position affair.

The question is if he will be sacked or backed up £££ for a 2nd season.

All this chat of Kante playing out of his position. I didn’t see the game today but is it that different to where he played at Leicester. Everyone saying he should be in Jorginho’s position but I’ve never considered him a holding midfielder, he always seemed to press all around the pitch

I realized football isn't for me when I was 10 years old and didn't have much skill. Maybe you'll eventually realize that you aren't part of the team and you shouldn't feel pressure over something you have no control over.

He was literally their number 8 attacking midfielder today. He was in Arsenal's box several times which is ridiculous for a player that limited technically. It's just exposing his weaknesses and misusing him. It's no different than putting Pogba number 6.

You weren’t gonna challenge City but you looked comfortable until the past month or so when you’ve decided to keep throwing points away to the point of looking like the worst side in the current top 6.

Today was one of the worst Chelsea displays I’ve seen, the players didn’t give 2 shits.

You’ve got to go away to City, Liverpool and United yet if I had to put money on your overall finish this season id pick 6th.

So Arsenal are 5 minutes away from winning the CL and you’re telling me you’ll just sit calmly and not bother if you win or lose? You clearly obviously like football but don’t really love it or associate with it if that’s your line of thinking.

That's not the same thing. You said duffer was feeling the pressure because he posted calmly on a forum in January. It doesn't make any sense.

Tbf duffee must be the most peaceful Chelsea fan I have ever seen in my life. He's always fine with anything Chelsea provide as long as they don't relegate. I don't think the rest of their fanbase is as peaceful.

Chelsea obviously want to finish in the CL spots. They were absolutely cruising, now they aren’t. If I was a Chelsea fan right now I’d be a bit pissed at the major downturn of form and I’d be worried about missing out on CL. It isn’t rocket science. You just beat Chelsea, you should be lapping it up.

I've seen us relegated. I've seen us with Paul Furlong as our main striker. Being 4th and "only" 3 points ahead of 5th in the middle of January does not really get me all that excited.

I also don't do my real Chelsea moaning on this site. I've got plenty of issues with the club.

Wow. That's...wow

Sidenote: third straight manager who struggles with the players mentality...

I wonder if the media will swarm all over Sarri the way they used to with Jose when he publicly barracked and snidely put down his players?
