Champions League Semi Finals (9th - 17th May)

Seriously this level of defending from Milan is embarrassing, nobody getting close to dealing with anything.

Absolute shambles

Even though it was very little contact, I do think he got caught on the back of his legs (light touch). Under the rules I’m not sure that is permissible to be overturned as it’s not a clear and obvious error.

Is Zlatan fit, can they throw on another dinosaur up front.

He's been finished for a while now.

Just a glorified cheerleader now.

Also Giroud is far more clutch in these circumstances than even Prime Zlatan who is an infamous bottler in the CL..

The commentators afraid to admit they got it wrong so they’re doubling down. They decided it was a penalty because of “contact and a hand” but when Acerbi and Giroud tussled there was more of a “hand” but they were sure it wasn’t a penalty

Just utter clowns

Doesn’t work like that. Harry Kane himself has had several, and I mean several games like Giroud is having tonight where he touches the ball a handful of times. And Harry Kane is as good as Harry Kane.

AC have no outlet and cannot stretch Inter to force their way into the game. Harry Kane being better than Giroud (which is even debatable on the biggest of stages anyway) wouldn’t change much.

Harry Kane is also the only reason Spurs haven't been battling relegation this season. Giroud has never done that for any team and he couldn't. Comparing Kane to Giroud is like comparing cake to shit. Giroud is a decent player but Kane is insane. I have seen loads of games like this where Kane holds the ball up and makes a difference. Hell it's almost every Spurs game this season. I don't want us to sign him because of his age (we don't need to worry about that anyway because he'll go to a top 4 club, which we won't be) but to act like he doesn't shine in games like this is ignoring his entire career to be honest.

What is up with Milan tonight

How can you not show up in a semi final at home to your local rivals. Not like there's a huge gap between the teams either, they've been neck and neck in their league.

Any chance Barella leaves Inter soon? We should be all over that if so.

There was a campaign to replace Maguire with Tomori for England. Am sure a lot of those journalists barely watched Tomori

Simon Kjær looks and plays ancient, Tomori hadn’t been impressive either, Dzeko left him for dead earlier.

The commentators pronunciation of Kjær is criminal too while we’re at it

Mkhitaryan and Darmian are probably going to get into a CL final yet they were shite here. Funny old game

How on earth did this Milan side beat a Napoli side with Kvaradona and Osimhen?
There was Leao, Milan are a good match up for Napoli and Napoli have been off color for the last month or so. On top of that, the 4-0 thrashing Milan handed Napoli away a few weeks before the CL tie would have also had an impact.

The fact that Giroud is not Kane is totally irrelevant tonight. Anyone watching the game can see that. The point is, any plan to have Rashford as our Rafael Leao and our only player who can get a defender running the other way is a risky and I think unwise one. AC don’t have their Rashford today and they are fecked.

Anyway, a conversation for another thread.

Tomori looks like he has a touch of the Maguires in him to be honest. Accident waiting to happen

Napoli defended like AC Milan is defending tonight in parts. I remember on the Leao goal in one of the legs 5-6 defenders just let him breeze past without fouling.

Same thing with Guehi. These players are all different shades of average. Just another overrated English player. There's about 20 Spanish or Italian Tomori/Guehi's around.

It’s a fecking joke ffs

But I do appreciate you trying to be helpful in case it wasn’t!
Dont worry, we all got it.
Though if he wants to be pedantic, its just not called Inter Milan by the fans. The full name is Football Club Internazionale Milano

As i said they're better than Milan. But they're the wrong type of opponent to beat City/Madrid. Milan are the right type
I get where you're coming from but a team that collapses this hard and is so lacking in overall technical quality isn't going to have the mental fortitude to pull such an upset but I suppose we'll see.

They didn't. Osimhen was injured. ;)

Dip in form for Napoli, poor finishing from them/great keeping by Maignan and a poor match-up (Napoli also struggled against Milan in the league for some reason).
