Champions League Semi Finals (24th April - 2nd May)

Real disappointing but lucky. Bayern are playing well despite the injuries.

How are Bayern not 2 or 3 up. A lot of chances missed. Thiago needs to come into the game more.

The fullbacks are making all the difference and scoring both goals. God bless us having Valencia and Young doing feck all.
Was just about to say this. Fullbacks are just as important as strikers nowadays. I really hope Jose is watching this.

Real have been diabolical.

Extremely lucky to be tied.
Thing about Real Madrid is they'll go through spells like this but still go away with moments of quality and periods of dominating play no matter what. Definitely 2nd best today but had their own moments.

even without Boateng, Vidal, Neuer and Robben, Bayern is actually playing well. they just waste too many chances.

Is it possible for the sun to shine any brighter out of somebody´s arse. I have to wear sunglasses indoors at night. There has to be a limit to Madrid´s amount of luck. Also Lewandowski just like Higuain bottling easy headers from six feet out. And Ribery fumbling the ball like a 1st grader.

He let Boateng off with the most obvious yellow card 35 seconds in the game. He's set a high bar, but at least he's been consistent.

If he'd done his job and gave Bayern the penalty just before that there'd be no foul on Boateng. The thing is, even RM fans can't dispute it given it was two hands in the back of Vasquez for his pen in the last round and that was a stonewaller.

Ribery is playing well but that touch is unforgivable.

I think Bayern's chance has come and gone. Could've had 2 or 3 goals in that first half. Ronaldo will obviously score in the second so they're gonna have it all to do now.

I’m going 1-3 Real for this leg.

Yeah, they really do. Doing really well and the ref is favourable to Madrid.

Yep. Bayern will miss a couple more chances and Madrid will float one or 2 crosses into the box and that’ll be all Ronaldo needs to make the difference.

Bayern need to start putting these chances away, it's getting rediculous.

I know Madrid have the recent pedigree but I'm not liking how easily they can be got at it which would suit Liverpool's fast counter attacking style. C'mon Bayern!

So based on the first half which team do we want to play liverpool ?

Both have weaknesses which Liverpool can exploit. I am not as confident as I was before about Liverpool not winning this year's competition. Bayern and Madrid have great experience on this stage, however, so I'm hoping that plays a key part. It's not the foregone conclusion I hoped it would be four weeks ago. It's annoyingly realistic now.

Maybe the most anonymous half of football from Ronaldo this season, guaranteed to score in the second half

What a save. Navas is class.
Class? Are you Costa Rican or United fan trying to calm Florentino Perez down. It was impossible to move out of the way of Lewandowski pathetic header.

It's not impossible but it's not realistic either. The thing is people overreact to their victory like they won the cup already.

Not sure how you can say that to be honest. It's a one off game and anything can happen. Madrid and Munich aren't exactly tearing up the place, and that front three of Liverpool's are a threat to anyone. Not saying they are going to win it (hopefully they don't even make the final), but it s definitely a realistic possibility.

Ronaldo is completely isolated, if Bayern have most of the ball and Madrid try to counter attack then Isco being on the pitch doesn't really make much sense.

Asensio needs to come in for either Isco or Lucas. Benzema should have started

There's an alternate universe where Navas is our keeper and I cry myself to sleep every night. Firstly, he's a bang average keeper. Second, he seems to be styling himself as a wrestling baddie.

He's Razor Ramon.

I think that might be more to do with having Ronaldo than not defending.

Nah not just Ronaldo. Marcelo, Carvajal, Modric and Kroos were a key part in most of these CL wins.

People have been talking about Marcelo's defensive side since his emergence on the scene but he's always the best left back in the world but he plays as he's left winger. Football have moved on and fullbacks now are more evaluated on their offensive side more than just setting, cutting the back and throwing it forward aimlessly. If you can't attack, sprint, cross and provide dangerous output as a fullback you'll never make it at modern football.

Feel like Navas would perform similarly to Bravo if he came to the PL.

There’s a whole stand empty behind the BT box?
