Champions League Semi Finals (24th April - 2nd May)

How did Roma beat a Barcelona side who are undefeated in the league?!?!
Just watch the match. Messi did nothing Suarez walked around the pitch. They just thought they didn't have to play and Roma took advantage and played really well as a team, something they've not done against Liverpool.

Even if Liverpool's front 3 would play badly they'd at least always be pressing the opponent and force them into situations to make mistakes which is something Barca didn't do.

Barca losing to Roma is worse than us v Sevilla IMO.
The gap in talent was larger and after a 4-1 first leg win?

One flukey night and they knock out Barca. Still can't believe that happened. And in doing so created a path to the final for the scousers. Fecking idiots!

No. Real is everything what i hate in football. Diving, cheating, disgusting behaviour, refs... hate that feckers more than any club

All these are far sweeter than seeing your historical rivals winning their 6th CL and extending the gap with us forever. They're annoying enough with 5 times, imagine when they become 6. Madrid doesn't compete with us on anything, I have no problems if they win it for 13th time or even 20th.

Interesting tidbit from Sky Sports here - I wonder will UEFA get involved?

Klopp's side have another ace up their sleeve - and it's edible!

The Anfield chief today revealed that he has requested that all of his teams' jerseys were transported inside a ziplock back with cake and pies, in an effort to distract Roma's midfield dynamo Radja Nainggolan. The heavily-tattooed midfield general is a known fat bastard, and a keen eater of pies and cakes - with those behind the scenes of the Merseyside club hoping that the alluring aroma of pastries and sponge will disrupt the Belgian's concentration.

"Yes, the zip lock! Very good. Very cool. That was my idea!" boasted Klopp.

Sky reached out to Nainggolan for comment, but he was too busy eating his third dinner to respond.

I know. Everything what you said is true. But i just can't cheer for real. Just can't....

Pool front three are stars when the opponents lose the ball and they go fast forward but against a defensive team they're shite!

Can teams not fecking defend anymore. Roma are supposed to be good at it but they have absolutely no screen for the defence. Look so wide open every time they lose it

They said Italian are masters at defending. I think defending in Serie A is so awful, not good as they were before in the 90s and early 2000s. For an example, Juventus has conceded a one-goal since November until they face Spurs and conceded 3 goals. Even Real Madrid thrashed them 3-0 at their home.

Schalke knocked out the then CL champions 7-3 on aggregate
Inter in 2009/10 and 2010/11 might as well have been 2 completely separate teams. New manager and loads of different players. They weren't a threat throughout the competition despite being the champions because they were so different.

Our only hope are:

- Lovren worst CB of all times
- Salah really shy tonight, not his night (now he will score 4...)

Yet people keep saying that the game has improved.

Another goal this half and 2 in the second half!

He's probably the most inoffensive player though.
He’s played for Leeds, City and now Liverpool - that’s plenty offensive enough  The sight of him lifting the Champions League in a few weeks will be depressing

Roma prepared that game to be all about strenght, pace and aerial duels, minimizing the talent gap, and we took that hook, line and sinker. My main gripe with Valverde is how he fell into that game plan and had 0 answers to it.

Yeah, that's such a mismatch. Then you factor in Isco and Ronaldo against that defense and also the fact that it's Klopp and Liverpool vs. Real Madrid and it's funny how people are getting so worried. It's the biggest mismatch in a final since god knows when.

Exactly what i mean.

Plus, look at the goals Liverpool score. Always mistakes of the opponents + perfect counter attacks. Real Madrid isn't that good this year but they have one strength: They nearly never (expect navas) make mistakes. This was enough to defeat a incredible Jupp side.
