Champions League Round of 16 fixtures

I don't see the hype about Muller at all. To my mind, he's the German equivalent of Dirk Kuyt* in the fact he's lucky as feck and chances seem to just fall to him in and around the box.

He's not the paciest, isn't particularly strong and regularly goes missing in games for lengthy periods of time. Good player yes, but not the 'worldy' he's often portrayed.

*Obviously I'm using poetic licence here and exaggerating slightly, but my point still stands.

He's a sublime player. Systematically our man of the match every game unless someone else does something extraordinary.

Where is he playing these days? Is he in the hole or more withdrawn?

Bollocks. Players like Hassler and Klinsman had plenty of flair.

But it was put to use in a very organised system where everone knew their job.

United's best modern sides were the same. Hard work, good shape and talented players.

He was terrific in the Euros I thought

He's about as unlike Dirk Kuyt as you can get

Robben wanted the ball earlier, he was onside then and would be one on one.

Yes, i'm not saying it wasn't efficient. It was, but it wasn't just efficient.

It's just a way of doing the Germans down by making them sound soulless and slightly reminiscent of the Gestapo.

It was efficient. Good physical specimen whose primary attributes were decisionmaking, positioning, technique and outstanding passing and shooting with little to no superfluous flair.

It's great football to me, but a far cry from the samba football of Brazil. It is just more... efficient.

I dunno, bit of both really, Littbarski and Hassler were inventive and entertaining. Brehme and Ziege more attacking and creative than your average full/wing-back.

Bollocks. Players like Hassler and Klinsman had plenty of flair.

They weren't Brazil but they had a sight more flair than most England sides I've ever seen.

Players like Gerrard and Beckham aren't what I'd call flair players either.

Hassler wasn't your stepover type. Staggering passer and and killer shot though.

This ref gives out way too many yellows. Any challenge that is slightly mistimed is a yellow.

I don't think he has turned into the player we all thought a few years ago, but Jesus he is a lot better than your post suggests.

Plus there is no such thing as being in lucky goal scoring positions on a regular basis.

He was angry with Kroos for waiting too long with the pass.

Yeah, I saw that but then once the pass didn't come he just sat there offside. You just come onto the pitch, you can't just stop moving to moan about a pass you didn't get

As I've said, I was exaggerating with that analogy. However, he does remind of Kuyt in the fact he'll go missing in games for long periods, and then a chance will fall to him in the box from nowhere.

He's a good footballer and intelligent, but I don't think he's quite in the 'word class' some make him out to be is all.
