Champions League Round of 16 (16th Feb - 17th Mar)

Red card is ridiculous, why didn't the VAR check it?

because Freuler was the last defender to stop him?

And they checked it of course and said it never was a clear and obvious wrong decision.

Casemiro off for the next game.

I don't think it's a yellow either. The ref has gone nuts.

I mean the attacker would have been through on goal, not a perfect angle, but still a good one and other defenders seemed too far away to interfere. Red is maybe harsh and very unfortunate for Atalanta, but I wouldn't call it a mistake.

I wonder what Atalanta does here.

Harsh red, now do they continue pushing as they normally would, or try to shut up shop for a 0-0 going back to Madrid.

Wasn't he the last man?
Without the foul the Real player would have an one on one with goal keeper.

Too bad for the tie tough.

Naw, attacker was straight in on goal then the defender takes him out, don’t know what all the fuzz is about.

Lovely ball from Cancelo. Awful from the centre back. He’s miles taller than Silva and didn’t even jump.

The ball just had a perfect curve. No chance for Ginter to head it from where he was standing. Might have been better to try and block Bernardo's run.

He didn't even think about it, just got the red out. Of course Peter fecking Walton thought it was the right decision.

He's just looking like a clown, he has to sit there every match and back choices even if they're wrong. Always makes some BS excuse up.

So another UCL tie where the away side wins. Only Porto-Juventus in the round of 16 that bucked the trend.

Poor English commentators suffering through repeated pronunciations of "Mönchengladbach", did noone tell them they can simply use "Gladbach"?

There aren't many real home games. Leipzig and Gladbach playing in Budapest.
Uefa should at least have the away goal rule suspended for ties played on neutral grounds.

Should be one stand alone ties in neutral venues. TV money matters more than the virus it seems.

Sterling is fast becoming the weak link in this City team, I know he scores sometimes but messes up play more often than not, like their Martial.

We have absolutely zero idea what to do once we get to the final third without Benzema
