Champions League Round of 16 (15th Feb - 16th Mar)

Rio was spot on, yeah. The non existent midfield and Elanga letting 3 atletico players stroll into the box are to blame, if anyone.

I know it's fashionable to hate on him and not to stick the boot in, but I don't understand why Maguire has dropped deeper than the rest of the defense in order to mark space when Griezmann is so wide and on his weak foot.

If Bruno spent more time trying to be a no.10 and less trying to be ref, he'd be much better off.

Lack of pace. Lindelof should be starting our European fixtures.

Simeone is going to start the shithousery very soon with a 1 goal lead. He’s so frustrating to play against.

Atletico are horrible to play against when chasing a game.

At least 3 times the ref has got in the way of a Man United player

To shield the box from a low cross. Then stops to play Koke offside. He's slow to pick up the man behind, but ultimately, it's McTominay and Elanga who feck up by being too slow/lazy to get back

I swear McTominay is at least partially at fault for like 50% of the goals United concede. Zero reading of the play defensively

Yeah I suppose, but this comes down to a DDG issue too then - they are close enough to the line that any low cross should be either dealt with by the keeper or put behind. Also does Griezmann really have the quality with his weak foot to fizz something across that's particularly dangerous? I kinda doubt it.

Agreed re: McTominay. He's just not a defensive midfielder. It's not a coincidence that United have looked at their best of late with Matic in the side.

MaGuire‘s head is so big he almost knocked Ronaldo out.

He's like Lukaku for me in the sense no amount of stats will convince me he's a world class player.

This is very true. I cringe every time I see either name on the team sheet though. Seeing both almost makes me not even want to watch as it is sure to be a clinic in headless chickenry.

You don't take that chance there

Agree

Did Maguire just clash heads with Ronaldo?

Yep

Wait a sec. It's Oblak vs De Gea here

We seriously should be hoping for penalties people!!!

If Affletico can bring this ref to every game they might actually win the thing!

Was trying to remember where I recognized this ref from - last year he was in charge of Porto v Chelsea and he completely bought into all of their antics. Seems like he's consistent...

Here we go. United losing composure. You can’t against this team.

ETH getting Ajax in United mode in preparation for next season.

Atletico are easily the biggest cnuts in the history of football.

If United score before the end I'll back them to win the tie.
