Champions League Quarter Finals (5th - 13th Apr)

Lewandowski and Kane are better, though

There’s a weird feeling watching Benzema now, this is some serious serious display of heading but the guy in general just looks like he’s playing on another level to others on the pitch.

As I said many times, there’s not a single player I regret us missing out on more than Benzema. It was so close that he played for United

Benzema’s been absolutely phenomenal this season. Two goals tonight and two of the best goals this season in CL.

It's easy to moan from behind a screen, I know, but why does this still so frequently happen in elite football?

What/who am I supposed to be looking at?

Which makes sense as he’s probably the best player in the world right now.

I'd take him in a heartbeat alongside Ronnie once again in United, even at this age. No way he comes though.

Edit: Incredible it took so many people until he was 34 to finally get recognition

That's because he is now. He carries this on, he'll win his first Ballon d'Or, especially if France go far in the world cup. He's in the top 3 for goal contribution across all leagues with Lewandowski and Mbappe, and he's clearly the main man in the CL right now.

It’s pathetic the way it’s premier league players now that throw themselves to the ground for penalties, that’s to do with state of reffing here now.

He was always very talented but now has combined that with experience and intelligence. Such a clever footballer. I've followed his career closely from thd Lyon days nd was gutted that he went to Madrid instead of us

Yep. There's been quite a few of them over the years but he's certainly way up there.

Puh-lease, it's bayern. Remember that time they lost 3-1 in Oporto and people thought they might go out and then they were up 25-0 at half time in the second leg...

And yeah, this is different from last year. We might lose anyways, but at least this time we can compete
Nice little jinx. ;)

For me it’s Ronaldinho. I still remember coping with missing out then he scored this on his debut

He’s been top class since his early Lyon days. Don’t even want to think how much more we could’ve won if we saw value in the market back then. I genuinely believe, abysmal weather apart (perhaps a big factor for someone living in Southern France), he was more interested in United move than Real. We were a better and more prospective team back then
