Champions League Quarter Finals (5th - 13th Apr)

Diaz looks like an excellent signing. The type of brilliant succession planning you'd expect from one of the elite recruiting clubs.
Yes, that’s the point. Salah could actually leave Liverpool this summer and it wouldn’t be a disaster for them any more. Six months ago you would have said if he left, they were finished. They must be run so well in that regards. Yuk

Is Fabinho okay? I'm at the stadium, can't tell how bad it looks
Edit: looks like he's fine uff, looked bad from here

Happy with how we have played against Liverpool

As much as I hate City, god I cannot stand Atletico, absolutely disgusting team full of cheats, divers, and thugs. Actually would prefer City knock them out just so I don't have to see them attempt to play 'football'

There's a strong argument to stop watching football. I'm not joking. Is anyone enjoying this rubbish?

Of all the top teams Atletico are by far the most painful to watch. I really could not sit and watch that every week, results be damned. Football is supposed to be about entertainment first and foremost and there is nothing entertaining about what they go out there and do.

Maybe I am bitter because they knocked out but it pleases me so much seeing Atletico lose their calm and the game

Yep. I really cannot stand City and hate when any other English team does well but Atletico represent all the things that I dislike about football.

Really targeting Grealish, bit strange.
Their game plan is shithousery and trying to make players react is probably 75% of their training under Simeone, sat in the video analysis room with him making them watch the video of his kick on Beckham on repeat.

Atletico were a disgrace. If they actually fancy themselves as footballers they surely can't go home and be content with this year in year out

It’s pretty disgusting to single out and target another player like that.

Christ, Athletico really are a disgusting team. Zero sportsmanship.

Imagine actually supporting them and having to watch that every week.

All they do is roll around on the floor, waste time and hound the referee's all game. Simeone running off down the tunnel at the end of the game. What a joke of a manager, sets a horrible example to his players and to young kids, don't ever want to see him near United. Some small part of me was actually slightly rooting for City. And I hate City.

This feigning of injury needs to be sorted out in football. Players holding their heads/faces as they know that a referee has to stop the game due to a head/face injury. Retrospective bans should be handed out if a player is found to be tickled in the little toe and reacts by screaming, rolling around holding their face.

I really enjoyed that game. I actually wanted city to win because Athletico are so snide.

And to think some on here wanted Diego Simeone as our manager. He has mastered the dark arts of anti-football. Sucks the joy out of the game

Can't say I am a fan of AM but at least they make teams fight them to get a result.

Atletico Madrid shocking. Thugs!

This is why I wanted United to knock them out.

Still have memories of facing them in the EL Semi's. They think football is a combat sport!

I don't care if City win the CL to be honest, but when I wanted to go live in the desert when Liverpool and Spurs were in the final, so I know the feeling.
Just want the season to be over and the scousers to not win this CL, more unbearable than a league title.

Do Benfica not have any better options at CB than a pairing of Vertonghen and Otamendi?

Ake has been City's best starter (so far) it's like he's won every aerial challenge
He' brilliant in the air considering he's a a midget. Good at directing them as well.

I managed to catch the Atletico antics at end of the match. Only enjoyable part about their game IMO.

If we ever hired a manager who has us playing like Atletico I'd honestly give up watching football. It's horrid

No, hence why everyone said it was a virtual bye for the Dippers.
They’ll get to a final having only beat a load of dross and Bayern, infuriating. They’re on top of the world and the circus going on at Utd will only be making things sweeter.

You don’t know shit. Trying to compare your so called mild rivalry to ours with these two fecking cnuts. I wish I could make you feel because It’s not even close how it feels to be on the either side of these scumbags banging teams and winning trophies each year and us watching on as limp dicks. Atleast you lot yourself are competing for titles every year.

Haha they literally won the CL last year too. Incredibly painful times for us Utd fans.

United are the only team with hated rivals. Cool. I get it bro

That's not what the poster you replied to meant, and I'm sure you know it. Who are your closest rivals? Now name who among them are currently among the best in the world.

Absolute rubbish. You can coach someone to win a 50/50? I’ve heard it all now.
I don’t know why it’s rubbish. If you don’t know that that’s very poor of you actually. Liverpool, Southampton, city, bayern and alot of other teams win their 50/50 more than the opposition just by their positions and the way they apply the pressure on the players itself.

I specifically said when Spurs were in the final.

When your rivals are Arsenal and Spurs you don’t have to genuinely worry about them winning a league or CL.

Spurs put in one of the most embarassing performances in a final ever seen.

When he saw he was alone, last thing he needed to do was embark on that run. Griezmann wasn't that far

There were like 5 City players between himself and Griezmann. Think Felix was trying to bait a foul which given the situation was probably the best-case scenario.

I mean, sure that's true but I was trying to empathise by drawing my own experience when I had to watch Liverpool (a team I hate) vs Spurs (a team I really hate) in the fecking CL final. At that stage, we had been an absolute irrelevance on the European stage for years.

Utterly shocking some people think we should go for Simeone. What Atletico are playing is just anti-football.
