Champions League Quarter Finals (3rd - 11th April)

We should play the same way liverpool is playing against City, full attack thats the way to beat them. Simply fantastic for liverpool

This is obviously what's going to happen. City will pick Liverpool off once they start to gas.

Exactly. But the good news for Liverpool is City doesn't have Aguero. Liverpool need probably 5 to make this one safe tonight.

Surely in that scenario, Liverpool are Juventus? Seeing as Juve were the ones who took an early 2 goal lead at home?

Klopp has got this absolutely spot on so far. City need to keep it to two for the inevitable slow down that will happen later on in the match.

It's not Klopp that's getting it right, it's the stupidity of Pep that's showing, he couldn't adapt his game if his life depended on it. he always does that, his years at Bayern were like that.

This is misplaced arrogance. that's why for me, he will never be as good as the best coaches. Sir Alex knew when we were worse than the opposition, adapted his game, Jose does that all the time. Pep needs to learn that if he wants to win a CL again.

Seriously though, what is Guardiolas thinking with gundogan in place of sterling? It’s literally wrecked the shape they’ve been used to all season.

Because of that all of their attacks end up on the left with Sane isolated since Laporte is not overlapping.

Some poster rightly said, too many games city won because of the opponent's defeatest mentality.

You take the fight to them, they shit themselves.

Why? About time the media saw “the greatest English team ever” for the garbage that it is.
Because Liverpool winning the whole thing looks a real possibility right now and that would be completely and utterly unbearable.

This is Liverpool... if City gets one back the back four will start to look shaky as feck.

Odds 21 on a draw doesn’t look too bad tbh

Mou having a conniption at the moment, how will he sell parking the bus at the weekend with nothing to lose.

I love it, feking love the look on pep s face.
On the other hand, I hope they do well and build on this, the scouse. Why? I want them to compete with us, these should be the 2 teams fighting for the epl, not the feking oil driven shitey.

Liverpool won't end up with a clean sheet here. City however look like they are going to concede with every shot on goal.

If City got knocked out this way with Liverpool, how much will they spend in summer then ? I reckon another 200-250m.

Liverpool allowed to run riot on the left. Well done Pep

This is the first time City have adjusted for an opponent and its affected them mentally.

Taking Sterling out of the team was a signal to the City players that they should fear Liverpool. That's how they've played: like they're afraid. Pep s-t the bed and his players are now drowning in the cak.

I don't care it's Liverpool, the big guns will take care of them in the next round.

But watching the bald arrogant fecker getting humiliated on the biggest stage is priceless.

Not yet.

This City team are too good to simply right them off at this point.

And Liverpool are notorious for letting large leads slip through their fingers. I’m just enjoying it right now. All the BS about city being the best team ever blah blah blah, and they’re being taken apart.

Peps decision to put Laporte in has messed them up attacking wise. Not surprised by result though said it at time of the draw.. Anfield on European nights is massive, cannot underestimate them at home.

Good start to the tie, but it says a lot about Liverpool that, at 3-0, I still fancy City to go through!

feck me how are the scousers playing like that? Other than the front three they have average players!

Big weakness of his. It will be glossed over this season because of his record league win, but he is not going to win this league continuously. Next season it may become a problem for him.

Is Ederson a waxwork or something? City seem to be playing with no goalie.

aye, seems like those videos where they put a goalie just so you don't have an open net.

Yeah like against Seville

We have the antidote for Liverpool’s press, and Liverpool have the Antidote for city’s possession.

In cup competitions, any team can win if everything goes right for them. Quality of opposition might be offset by one freak Salah goal that wins them the CL, so no need to risk it. City winning the CL is bad, but not a disaster like 6 times.
City winning the CL for the first time would be a disaster! If it's a choice between 1 of these 2 to win the CL,I would chose City....But I think Liverpool will fall short against the big 3...

The basics of football, work on your strenghts and expose your oppositions weakness. All night Scouse to their credit have marched them back down the pitch and exposed their back line. No doubt not a lot of teams can do it but under sustained pressure, City are pretty shit at defending
