Champions League | Matchday 6

Can't wait for the revisionism in the coming days about how Messi dominated the game despite doing naff all but walk around all game.

Dumb take. Messi wasn’t amazing but when he was on the ball, even prior to the goal he looked good. People crying about him walking around is ridiculous as when he has the ball at his feet he’s a threat from anywhere on the pitch. He just doesn’t see as much of the ball as he did with Barca. When he has it, he rarely was poor with it

Why doesn't Wijnaldum play for PSG? He is very good at protecting the ball at least

I'm team ronaldo but I'm happy messi has finally got himself a goal.

Hopefully he kicks on now.
Even if people like one better than the other it’s always good to see them do well. They are near the end of their careers and it’s going to be a sad day when they retire

Personally think he's been brilliant. Does so much dirty work that largely goes unnoticed.
Aye. And yet he's inexplicably PSG's furthest forward midfielder when they attack.

Of the whole Paris squad Veratti would make BY FAR the biggest difference to our game from day 1.

Watch Porto somehow shithouse their way through this group and then hand City a walkover tie in the next round.

Dumb take. Being good on the ball isn't helpful if you're never on the ball because your team can't get a kick and you can't be bothered running around a bit to help out.

Didn't Liverpool win 5-0 the last time they played Porto too?

Might aswell have not showed up for the game Porto

I think if you want him to be your main man in midfield you've got a problem, but when he has veratti who is probably the best in the world in there that can dominate the ball, he's a fanatic player at that auxiliary role.

Pep signing Grealish for 100m and not going all in for Messi must be one of the most stupid things he has done in his career(if that's down to him).

Porto, in particular the keeper, are shocking and just bending over for liverpool

Nah, Messi is 34, what he provides in attack more than offsets his lack of defensive contribution. He’s been good with the ball today. And he’s had a good match
