Champions League | Matchday 6

Love affair between Kroos and Ramos continues.

Edit: Whoa, what an assist by Barella.

Jota, yet another Klopp masterstroke. They seem to get incredible value on every signing. The only signing in the last 4 years or so who hasn’t lived up to expectation is Keita.

Hit after hit in the transfer market for years now.

There it is

Great goal in fairness, fantastic pass by barella

2-1

It's their advanced stats department that suggests transfers afaik

I don't think Klopp or any manager or head coach can take credit/blame for transfer anymore. There are other people doing that job.

Also a great finish by lautaro

Yeah, this is a ridiculous game between two teams that can't defend

Madrid are so open to straight balls, what the hell has happened to them?

Would have no interest in that Liverpool match, an easy group they were expected to stroll through. Inter v Real Madrid an enjoyable contest thus far. First Madrid goal a gift, 2nd goal Inter foolishly left Ramos unmarked at the corner kick. Inters goal was well worked and a fine finish.

At liverpool it's the nerds
Even in Arsenal there is a position called data analyst. They are the people doing the analysis of player, and the technical director or DOF is the one doing the transfer. The head coach probably will be consulted, but they are definitely not the one identify the players.

No idea, it's maddening

We're trying to press more and higher but consistently lose the extra man, defenders get puller all over the pitch too easily and there's no cover from the midfielders...honestly we look like a team that is still in pre-season, trying new things or something

Re: Jota. Remember he wasn't even liverpool's top target. That was Sarr. But they deemed him too expensive so they moved on to their second target. Good scouting

If that's true then Klopp is fortunate in a way to have such great support. Obviously a top class manager regardless but nice to have a transfer committee /department that bolsters your team in such an effective manner.

After missing out on Werner

Madrid can’t defend and Inter keep making a bunch of mistakes to set up Madrid chances

That's always been true of nearly every successful manager nearly anywhere. Even in england were managers were in charge of transfers. Ferguson wasn't scouting players himself, he built a good scouting network at the club and trusted them to do their job
