For once I'd like to actually avoid drawing Barca but it looks like another one of those years as Basel away won't be easy and I can't see PSG dropping any points at home.

Well topping the group might mean Real, Bayern or Dortmund...

What a crap CL week. Only game of interest being Benfica-Napoli.

Can't they draw other group winners?
:D Atletico would make for a nice change. Or Juventus.

Arsenal - Dortmund in the round of last 16 however would be boring as feck. It feels as if they met in almost all CL groups when we managed to qualify.

Good chance for me to finally see Dembele before he joins us in January!

Does Pulisic even get games for Dortmund? Any chance he'll play against Madrid in a crunch top of the table match?

A) If Besiktas win and Benfica/Napoli draw, Besiktas is 1, Napoli is 2
B) If Besiktas win and Benfica/Napoli win, then the Benfica/Napoli winner is 1 and Besiktas is 2
C) If Besiktas draw and Benfica win, Benfica is 1, Besiktas is 2
D) If Besiktas draw and Napoli win, Napoli is 1, Benfica is 2
E) If Besiktas draw and Benfica/Napoli draw, Napoli is 1, Benfica is 2
F) If Besiktas loses, the winner of Benfica/Napoli is 1 and the loser is 2

Ultimately, the tiebreak is such that Benfica beats Besiktas, Besiktas beats Napoli, Napoli beats Benfica. There can be no more than two clubs tied on points after tonight, so there will not be a three-way tie. Two of these clubs will advance to the CL Ro16 and the third will fall to the EL Ro32.

tl;dr: in a two-way tie, Benfica beats Besiktas, Besiktas beats Napoli, Napoli beats Benfica. A three-way tie can't occur.

It's amazing that it is possible to miss the hype around Pulisic in English-writing media. Regarding your second question, you are more likely to win the lottery than guessing Tuchel's team sheets, always full of surprises, i.e. when almost all attacking players are fit.

Nope, it's Arsenal. They always play Barca. Maybe Bayern but they won't win group.

You have a point. It would be refreshing to see them go out against some other team, but what can you do.

In fairness, they played Monaco a couple of years ago and managed to mess that up, so I dont think it really matters who they play. The games are in February which means Arsenal lose.

The soul-crushing condition of being an arsenal fan

Awful CL week. 5/8 groups already have the top 2 locked in. So it's basically about Sevilla/Lyon, Porto/Kobenhavn, Group B and a few fights for the first position in the groups, although that doesn't even seem muich of an advantage this year with so many good teams in second place. Boring:o

Only game I have any interest in is Benficas as that may have a bearing on us signing Lindleof.

From Arsenals point of view topping the group may not exactly be a good thing considering that Real/Bayern/Dortmund would have managed to not win their groups somehow. Though they are bound to beat Bayern over 2 legs at some point surely.

Benfica-Napoli tonight for sure. Lindelöf vs Koulibaly. An abundance of interesting young 'uns on display. Tomorrow.. Maybe Lyon-Sevilla. Spurs i dunno.

Doesn't make a lot of difference if Arsenal finish top or runner up in the table. Top teams like Madrid and Bayern might finish 2nd in their respective groups. Just wish the luck of the draw fancies us with an easy draw.

Team sheet on Gaurdian
Teams
Basel: Vaclik; Lang, Suchy, Balanta, Traoré; Dié, Xhaka; Eylounoussi, Delgado, Steffen; Janko

Subs: Vallati, Gaber, Zuffi, Bjamason, Hogh, Calia, Doumbia

Arsenal: Ospina; Gabriel, Holding, Koscileny, Gibbs; Ramsey, Xhaka; Iwobi, Oil, Perez; Sanchez

Subs: Cech, Giroud, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Monreal, Mustafi, Elneny

Referee: M De Sousa (Portugal)

I wonder who this OIL guy is. Hope he is good :P

Foolish of Wenger to risk Sanchez and Ozil in my opinion.

Play Giroud and Walcott.

This why he never wins the PL.

I agree, very foolish.

We have a big three game stretch in the league coming up - Stoke, at Everton, at City - and further knackering out our players, or risking injury to them, is really stupid given the very low probability that this game is even meaningful and the relatively low stakes anyway (a slightly better likelihood of a good draw from Pot 1 instead of Pot 2). It really makes no sense at all but Wenger gonna Wenger.

I can't get really excited, this tie has happened way too often. It's almost as boring as the gazillion ties with Arsenal.
Every big game excites me, even if it has happened a few times before.

Don't take this the wrong way as it was a terrible tragedy but how many more minutes silences can we have for the plane crash

Is this slightly cringey? Would there be uproar if Jose did this with our players?

Is that klopps brother or something stood just to the left behind, I see him on the Liverpool bench all the time. They look very similar.
