Champions League Last 16 games - Feb/Mar 2015

Has Luiz been booked? Swear he's fouled more times than anyone else on the pitch.

Also, Veratti is a class act.

EDIT: Stupid tackle from him.

It's a bit risky though to be this defensive, if PSG score a late goal Chelsea might find it difficult in the second tie. They've barely played football in that second half. It works but I reckon PSG was there for the taking.
I don't think they've been THAT defensive. PSG have had the better chances but it's not like they've dominated and they're the home team. PSG have mostly looked a bit dull, actually, lots of the ball but not much end product, like a better version of us actually.

Probably should have been off for that tackle

Cesc has been atrocious tonight, again. Doesn't really do big games does he?

Mallenco has been a lot worse tonight than cnuty.

Come on now, he's definitely the best full back in the PL. A poor start here doesn't change it.

Defensively, maybe.
Lots of ABC's in here tonight picking on ORC.

I wouldnt necessarily say Cesar or Ivan were world class even though they are the best in the league in their positions, but theyre certainly on the level below that.

Costa
Hazard
Courtious
Fabregas

On the other hand are undoubted.

Agree on those four.

Cesar might be the best left back in the league, but again, that's more down to the lack of quality. Ivanovic isn't the best right back in the league.

Cavani is similar to Higuain.

Goalscorers who score loads of goals but can't be relied on to score goals.

I'm amazed the cnut that gave Nani a red without thinking has been so reserved with the yellows in this game. cnut.

With this ref you usually have to commit manslaughter before getting a yellow. Which is one of the 1000 reasons why the Nani red card was strange.

The best thing is that the game hasn't changed at all since Alonso was sent off. Nothing' changed at all. We're still useless in possession but unthreatened on defense.

Hope you're watching, Ed. That's our new #9 next season on the pitch.

Thiago Silva

 Cavani.

Think if PSG setup similarly in London they can cause Chelsea problems. Their forward players are always gonna trouble Cahill and an aging Terry.

so, the most fundamental and important aspect of being a full back then?

What you do going forward is almost as important. Most top sides have a left back who is significantly better going forward than Azpilicueta.

Not sure what you expected from Mourinho away from home, especially when he decided to pick Ramires over Oscar. He'll be delighted with the away goal, job done I'd say.

Exactly. Advantage Chelsea and likely bye bye PSG after Stamford Bridge. Not too shabby.

Disagree. I think the guy is class. Best midfielder in the world on his day, not often bullied out of a game either.
He's fantastic but I meant that would be the rationale from the Gaffer.
