Champions League Knockouts (12 Aug - 23rd Aug)

If you're offside and have to actively step over the ball for someone else to get it I don't get how it isn't offside for interfering with play?

It isn't interfering with play though. If he didn't step over the ball then he would've been. He simply ignored the ball.

Peter Walton doesn’t even wanna answer their bullshit

Never seen it this bad. It's fair that English commentators may want English clubs to win in these games, but there's a way to maintain a level of professional.

Think of Gary Neville with that Torres goal for Chelsea against Barcelona. Utterly ridiculous commentary but at least entertaining for the viewers and not blatant support of a team.

This commentary team are just coming across as fans shouting at a TV down the pub.
I’ve not noticed any real difference between the commentary tonight and what we’re used to hearing with English clubs in Europe. Remember Andy Gray when Gerrard scored against olympiacos?

The City defence have had nothing to do all night and have still conceded 2. Unbelievable. They'll never learn.

I hate this bias commentary, like its on behalf of the majority of the U.K, its acceptance for almost every other British team, even Chelsea, but not City, I have never ever spoken to a non City fan that ever wanted City to win the CL

Commentators moaning about Ekambi being offside but Peter Walton ruled that out as an issue straight away so wish they'd just shut up about it.

He just said it again. Fletcher now trying to say it’s a foul.

Fletch and sav are going to be absolutely bawling if city don’t equalise

There’s a real naivety about City. They didn’t need to be pushing so hard for a win at 1-1. Complete lack of patience.

UEFA vs Man City. City won with the CAS but UEFA will win with referees.

No matter how funny it is that’s offside 10/10 no contest City got robbed

But you don't have to touch to interfere - like blocking the view of the keeper. I'm really surprised.

Yeah but that's the exception because you're still impacting the play as a result of obstructing the keepers line of sight. Simply letting the ball run past you 50 yards from goal isn't interfering with play. It's sheer desperation.

I mean it’s not like he’s impacted Ederson at all from doing that. Might’ve been a clip by Dembele in the build up as he’s running through?

let's predict who gets Citeh's equaliser and winner...

Jesus with the equaliser, D Silva with the winner in extra time.

Commentators scream in delight

:nervous:

Was the player they are trying to claim was offside even offside anway? I thought it was in real time but it's looking on in the replays.
