Champions League Knockouts (12 Aug - 23rd Aug)

This would be such a failure of a season from Pep
If you’d offered them this last 4 at the start of the season they’d have snapped your hand off. I think you could consider it a failure if they don’t win it.

Pep outthinking himself again, 90 minute CL QF of course its the time to try a completely new system.

Looks like only farmer league teams play the semis.

But it's not over yet...

Guuardiola is way to stubborn . He always keeps this highline no matter who the opposite team is.

I can feel it in my Lyons, we are feasting tonight.
Can we get Aouor for 50m quid? He looks a good player.

This is the one thing about French football at the moment - there's a deep talent pool in the country. I was watching some Ligue 2 highlights a week or so ago on youtube and the level was pretty high.

There’s no way Fernandinho gets a yellow for that in the PL.

PL refs take note

How many fouls do you all think Fernandinho will get away with now that he’s actually been booked?

This might upset some traditionalists but the one legged knockouts are more enjoyable. There’s very small margin for errors.

"Let's see, OL's greatest strength is they're very fast and athletic and good in duels, and likely fitter than us. This calls for man to man!"

It's like he does it on purpose at this point

It's weird too because it took Chelsea pretty much no time at all after you got your sugar daddy to acclimatise to the CL.

City still look like they're new to all this

Chelsea had stronger characters in the squad.

Unless he's from Amsterdam and a diehard Ajax fan, how does it matter?
It doesn't really. A retired referee, Dick Jol (not related to Martin Jol) mentioned it. A tinfoil head person coukd go so far as to say that Dutch football as a whole benefits from Ajax doing well.

Truth be told I was mostly being a tit.
