Champions League Draw | 17:00 CET | United, PSG, Leipzig, Istanbul

Much tougher.

We wouldnt have a hope vs Athletico and Bayern. Leipzig and PSG, we do.
We couldn't have drawn Atletico, since we were both in pot 2.

I would've much rather played Bayern/Salzburg/Moscow than PSG/Leipzig/Istanbul.

Yes, we would've most likely finished behind Bayern, but I really doubt we would've finished behind Salzburg or Moscow.

I love tough CL groups....it is a lot better than watching them play a wee team in Russia or Denmark.

When is Europa draw? Need to check on prospective opponents for knockouts.

Let's just give up eh?

Throw the CL group stages this season so we can focus on making top 4 and qualifying for next years CL.

Group of depth for us. I’d like to think we’d be facing our next manager in Germany. That said, I think we have a good chance of getting out of the group.

I think it's more that a lot of people still see Owen as a player from recent memory, so it's funny a 29 year old saying he was his hero growing up. Makes you feel old

Actually, now that you say it it is kind of strange, although when KDB was 7 Owen was tearing up the PL at 18. Does make me feel old though :(

Wouldn't it have made more sense for us to be paired with City, being as in the same city? Why Liverpool?

Or can't we play same night anyway?
With regards to city, It's not like they've anybody watching it at their stadium.

And Liverpool and Us will get more views, so seperaring us makes sense for TV viewers rating.

That's not how football works.

They get enough tough games in the PL.

champions league is a different animal though. liverpool got bounced early despite being pristine in CL. Plus EPL teams as a whole are overrated if we are being honest.

Excited for the draw, but isn't it typical the other English teams all get easy draws.

Hoping Liverpool underestimate Atalanta

It’s a good draw for us.......

All 3 of these teams will attack us and try and play on the front foot - we do much better against teams that do this as we can counter and use our pace - the key will be how we defend - at least we will not have to try and play against 21 players in one half and break them down as we’ve shown that we are not good at that.....

gonna be good matches....

Agreed, I think we should have some qualities, obviously, we need some new recruits to improve the team.

They've got a bunch of players nobody has heard of. They don't have werner anymore.

Why are people so fecking negative on here?

Also why wouldn't we relish playing PSG?! I hope we get Phil Jones on to two foot adm.

Brandon Williams to smash him into the hoardings too.

We've as good a chance as the rest in that group.

Travel to Turkey is going to be a bitch too. Worst group ever.
It's a four-hour flight, hardly the end of the world. And there won't be fans.

Three artificially inflated clubs: everyone knows PSG and Leipizg and of course Istanbul Basaksehir is literally owned by the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports, and they're Erdogan's favourite. They've got money to burn.

On paper, it should be a close fight for second between us and Leipzig. They're probably slight favourites, and of course PSG should win the group easily.

United get the hardest draw out of the English teams. Then Pool but as league winners and in Pot 1 they obviously deserve an easier group, and there's still some decent sides in there. Then Chelsea, rewarded for finishing behind us I guess. Don't even want to say anything about that City draw, what a fecking joke

Minimum 6 vs Basaksehir, 3 vs Leipzig and 1 vs PSG. 10 points and we should be fine. Harder than we wanted, especially considering Pool just got the easiest group in human history, but we should make it.

Anyway, easy group doesn’t always guarantee easy passage. We only got 10 points in 2008-09 when we were the second best team in the world against Villareal, Celtic and Aalborg.

If you get more than 6, I'll be eternally impressed

Yeah La liga has a lot of teams that can go to City and beat them 5-2.

After dropping 3 points in the league we should write off all of 2020/21, rest all through 2021/22 and then 2022/23 will be our year.

We have the toughest group.

A: Bayern & A Madrid
B: Inter & Real
C: Man City & Porto
D: Liverpool & Atalanta (Ajax are tough also)
E: Chelsea & Sevilla
F: Dortmund & Lazio
G: Juventus & Barca (Should be interesting Ronaldo v/s Messi)
H: PSG & Man Utd (Not easy to beat Leipzig)

Fc Erdogan. Well, sort of anyway. They have like 7 fans, but are somehow successful now.
Yeah, somehow. Erdogan's favourite team, owned by the Turkish government, has mysteriously become successful. I wonder how.

Great Lord, so we're in the same group with the last season finalist and semi finalist

I don't understand people on the caf

We make the CL, everyone is buzzing...then everyone is whining because we didn't get easy opponents...then why the hell were you all so concerned with making top 4

Top 4 is the target in the Premier League and it will be the target in our CL group, too, after this draw.

No fans basically makes this a real walkover for us.

I'm no expert on istanbul, but its not exactly fener, galatasaray or besiktas.

Honestly, we make a big fuss about it all the time, but usually they are easy matches more often than not even when they had fans.

I dont think PSG are all that to be honest. They arent easily topping this group

Tough ask for United as a team, but looking forward to United's forwards and Bruno/Pogba going up against the group teams. Should be fun and interesting altogether. United's defense has to get their shit together and quick, most notably AWB as he'll be the poorest technical player on the pitch against PSG and Leipzig.

People underestimate us because our fitness is bad right now. I hope the early games will show that it's not that bad.

3 PTS from PSG
6 PTS from Leipzig
3 pts from Basaksehkir

We are the only proper football club in the group. It s like 6 games against City. We got this

How Gnabry didn’t get shortlisted for the Men’s POTY is beyond me.

Feck it. Got to face the best teams at some point. Hopefully it’ll motivate us to play better by playing better opponents.

Nothing worse than a perceived easy draw frustrating you because the XI was complacent about it.

The "what's the point of being in the CL if you don't want to face the best teams" argument seems silly to me.

Of course we want to see ourselves pitted against the big teams. In the knockout stages, where the CL is many multiple times more fun and dramatic than the group stages.

Facing too many good teams too early and failing to reach that much better stage of the competition would be a huge letdown. The point isn't that we don't want big games, it's that we don't want to exit the competition before the properly big games start.

Because while facing PSG and Leipzig might be big in the sense that they could beat us, it's not particularly big in terms of interest and spectacle. Most of Europe's big teams are only getting warmed up in the group stages.
