Champions League Draw | 17:00 CET | United, PSG, Leipzig, Istanbul

Fun group that. At least there won't be any opposition team that'll park the bus.

How intimidating will Turkey be without fans? Take that out of it and Turkish teams are ordinary. No excuses not to have 6 points there. Beat Leipzig at home and we need probably a point from two PSG games and Leipzig away.

Very doable.

Groups B and H are the toughest groups. I honestly think that our group's potentially a group of death. Istanbul BB are capable of testing big teams with the quality of players at their disposal.

On the upside for united guys, a tough group if you get out of it will have you much better rested for RO16. As oppose to city who get easy groups and then a total shock to the system when they face a proper team in knockouts.

That's not how football works.

They get enough tough games in the PL.

we have a better chance at this than the pl. tough group but ole needs to be able to get out of it.

And some thinks Ole is a lucky manager?

Short straw draw once again for United meanwhile Chelsea who finished the season behind United got easy group Lampard remains the lucky general.

It's a tough group but we should get through, you miserable bstards cry whatever happens. If it's too easy, you want a big team ect. United have enough to get through this. On another note, great to see Chelsea getting the annual tough group.

Don't understand the negativity.

PSG favourite to top it.
Us and Leipzig similar chance.
Istanbul last place.

Comes down to how we do against Leipzig. We have the team to qualify from this.
Agreed. Going out to Leipzig would be disappointing.

Great draw. Should be a lot of fun matches against some interesting teams. Much better than getting a bori g Europa League draw in the CL.

Quick lookup on wikipedia, Rafael plays for the Istabul team

Istanbul are bottom of the Turkish superlig. Anyone got any ideas why? Have they lost players over the summer?

I’m sorry but when was the last time man city got a group of death? Just ridiculous now
To be fair, they are shit in the UCL anyway. They can't get to a final even when given the easiest routes. It's nice to see them get to quarters and get knocked out for the bants.

Nah City will get Rennes or some shit that comes out of the other piss easy group too. Kind of already writes itself.

Should be a comfortable 3rd place for us in that group. Quietly confident we can finish above Istanbul

Exactly. What’s the point of playing on the CL of our pathetic fans base just want us to play against shit teams.

You want to play the best teams, that’s why we want to be in the competition.

It’s a group we are more than capable of qualifying from.

Draw could have barely been tougher for United with two strong teams from pots 1 and 3, and a horrible trip from pot 4.

Classic CAF reaction though to have everyone shitting themselves all season and not caring about anything else but CL qualification, to then immediately proceed to everyone shitting themselves about having to play decent teams now qualified. Hopefully we get through and are playing some form of European football in spring next year.

Maybe one day we will get back to having some confidence and trying to win it all.

Just typical. Hankering to get into the CL all season, then bitching about the games when we're in it. Next thing will be the constant whining about the midweek games, rotating players etc., etc......then back to hankering about that coveted top 4 spot for next season.

It's quite laughable when you take a step back and break it down.

We have been so inconsistent over the years that one day we could beat PSG and the next day we ll lose to a relegation threatened team. So I’m not confident at all.

Pessimistic because we don't have the depth to handle the premier league and Champions League with a tough group. Mid week games every week are fine if you can rest your whole team. Not fine if every game we need our starting 11. Only the midfield has depth but then we need Ole to rotate Pogba and Bruno normally with VdB. Signings needed if we want to get out of the group!

It's for tv purposes. No one cares about city
Think it's because City don't have many fans or maybe the powers that be didn't recognise them?
Both sound legit. Keep the big two British clubs apart (TV rules now, I should have remembered that) and let the two established 2001 go in the other half.

We can totally top this group if we play to our strengths and hit some form on the match days. Whether or not we can , especially given the fixture congestion, is a different matter.

Dippers don't have an easy group imo.

Underestimating ajax and atalanta.

Even Midgetland are a pretty decent team.

On the plus Ajax have lost players this season so shouldn't be a tough task on paper.

Minimum 6 vs Basaksehir, 3 vs Leipzig and 1 vs PSG. 10 points and we should be fine. Harder than we wanted, especially considering Pool just got the easiest group in human history, but we should make it.

Anyway, easy group doesn’t always guarantee easy passage. We only got 10 points in 2008-09 when we were the second best team in the world against Villareal, Celtic and Aalborg.
