Champions League 2nd Stage Draw

Newcastle got lucky! They got the worst Spanish side, the second worst Italian side and the worst German side... IMO of course.

We'll batter them 5-0 twice! <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> :p

We've got to squeeze out Depor or Juve - very tough, we're going to have to reproduce our best form to do that.

Yeah....there is that, or we'll find out how bad they are ;)

I'm happy with our draw. Juve flattered to deceive in their group. Basel are they're for the taking and we can do Depor again but we need a blinding CB job on Makaay - he's about the hottest striker in Europe at the minute.

Basel weren't though and look what happened there eh? Don't get cocky.

The second group stage is really what the champs league is all about. Remember Bayern, Barca, Brondby and United. There should always be three big teams per group IMO. Can't wait for this group to start. These are the real big European nights. Hate to be a scouser today :p .

Agree with Dans btw. We should go trough. Tho that was a fact even b4 the draw...

Not been impressed with Juve or Depor. i can see us winning all three matches at home...and picking up a victory away to Basil..

in 2 weeks i think.</strong><hr></blockquote>
Thought the first match would be at home. SAF was on the telly saying one of the advantages of winning the group was the first game would be at home?

Four home matches? Boy, we truly are given advantages by UEFA! ;)

i think that'll suit us..

we've got a terrific chance to get 9 points, from that.. which will be an excellent start.

Tho, hopefully the match won't mean anything... <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

Just after the liverpool and arsenal double header - what a couple of weeks! Thats going to be soooo tough, and on current form it could be disastrous.

I expect you to go through from that group.

The Arse though? Kinell thats a tough group!

can't believe people are saying that arsenal should qualify.

that's a horrible group.

Group of death for the arse imo. I think Valencia will beat them twice, Roma will get beat at highbury but win/draw at home, and Ajax will be the bananaskin, they really need to beat Ajax twice and draw Roma away.

Some excellent groups here. Only class teams left, some of the mediocre teams from the firtst round should quite frankly not be in the Champions League, Spartak, Haifa, Liverpool, brugge etc.

The real deal starts now.

Too fecking true, anyone of those teams could beat the Arse, Valencia should win the group IMO, then its a lottery I think...

I think Depo and Juve will be saying exactly the same about Manyoo. They've hardly set the league on fire and lost 3-0 to Maccabi Who?fa. They've also got a very, very suspect defence with their most expensive player taking it easy on the injury table.

If you get through this group I will take my hat off to youse. This is no easy group for you(finally).

It will be warm enough, but nowt like in the south or even where I am - not hot, because it's in Galecia, and it rains alot, the countryside looks like the south of England it's that green.

Might make a change to go somewhere warm that's not arid - cyprus was ugly. Good city to see?
