Centre Mid options other than Vidal..

Because we've been hurt in the past by Hargreaves. And as for the Strootman comparison, they are different injuries, with Vidal's the one to be more wary of.

I heard the Strootman one is the more serious one..

Morgan Sanson could be another player to keep an eye on.

Never even heard of this guy.

One for the future and playing for Montpellier. Since we have a habit of missing out on midfielders while they are cheap, I thought the caf should know about him regarding twitter and instragram.

Really? Vidal got injured two months after Strootman, had his surgery, came back in a month and played 3-4 games. Took a break for two months and came back again, trained and played in a preseason game for 45 minutes while Strootman has barely even started training since his injury in March and yet Vidal is the more serious of the two?

Stootman is more serious for sure. He won't be fully fit in the first half of the season.

Me neither but I bet I'm not the only one that said "I'm Morgan Samson" in Morgan Freeman's voice in their head.

@royboy16

If you don't really care about market value:

- Iturraspe
- André Ayew (he is initially a CM but never play there for Marseille, but i think that he does regurlaly for Ghana)
- Asamoah ( for the right price Juventus will sell)
- Luiz Gustavo
- And at last, i don't know.

Thanks man, was'nt aware of this thread so will have a browse

The comparisons between Vidal and Hargreaves are ridiculous. Vidal has had one big injury and there may be some cause for concern as to whether it might be recurring (unlikely to be a major problem). Hargreaves, on the other hand, was signed having been well known as a physio's wet dream for most of his career.

I don't think Ayew would be at all an option, since he's on the left for his club and has been for years. The reason he plays centrally for Ghana is the reason why Asamoah wouldn't be an option either - he's also more a left winger/wing back. Iturraspe is great but unlikely, because Bilbao. Gustavo is very good at what he does. I dunno if what he does is what we need, but at least he'd bring the porno-funk-star tache.

About Ayew, is not a winger he plays there because Marseille are skint and can't buy a decent Attacking Midfielder or Winger.
Now he has been used out of position for so much years that he would be a dubious option. Asamoah is also a proper CM but he is versatile.
Finally Iturraspe has the same clause than Herrera, he is not cheap but he is way better than our players.

Can't believe Vidals name is just going to be tossed into the 'what could of been' pile.
Such a shame

See, it's not that much of a shame to me because I never really thought there was a deal on what so ever. The only time I thought something might happen was when Van Gaal name checked him, however that hasn't really gone anywhere.
There was never really a completely reliable outlet reporting about us being in for Vidal, and even if one mentioned it they didn't really report anything solid.

Luis Gustavo would've been a good shout. No one would've noticed Nani left - just that he grew an evil mustache.

Gustavo was an odd on, he would have been perfect for us.

As for other midfield options, everyone seems to be lost in Vidal world.

So we've spent nearly £200m and we've STILL not added a world class CM that we've been crying out for for 5 seasons. Beyond belief really.
