I think this is a very good signing for Utd. Won't cover up the poor window so far, but if they can get 2 or 3 of his level in, it'll turn out pretty decent
Always liked you mate good post

Also bonkers!Barca just paid 50m for a 34 year old
£60M for arguably the world’s best DM. Bargain. Is also a fair argument.
Interesting. Sure hope you’re right (if he comes here!)Maybe it's just me but I like his attitude on the pitch. He commits every time I've seen him play, and he doesn't seem to be troubled by much. He just goes about his day tackling the ball off people and doesn't take shit from them.
I think it says alot as well that he and Dani Alves have had their fair share of the captain's armband for Brazil.
Also, this article from The Guardian two years ago shows what type of person he is...
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...l-madrid-defensive-midfielder-manchester-city
Funnily enough, same article...
We paid £80M for Maguire.....He’d help us for sure but £60m for a 30 year old midfielder is all a bit bonkers really.
My thoughts exactly.Anyone saying that 30 is too old is overlooking the fact that if we don't get someone decent in that position right now, we will be up the proverbial creek. We aren't buying him for the future, we need him immediately.
Haha, better on Casemiro than Joel’s back pocket! We paid £80M for Maguire.....
Feck it. May as well spend the money before it's all gone
And he cost 20m, not 60m! For that price, no one would be worried about signing Casemiro either. He was going into a well oiled machine in Liverpool and even then it took a season of adjustment.
I wasn’t singling you out , just in general there’s a few negative comments. I think he’ll be a great signing . Exactly what we needI'm certainly not saying that. He's a top player. I'm just playing devils advocate and wondering why he'd leave the current Spanish and CL champions to play in the Europa League.
It's a risky deal even though he's a good player.
Before anyone says Varane, let me just add that this guy will add some serious steel to our team. Something we've sorely missed since Keano left.Would be a great signing for us. He is a proven winner and a leader on the pitch.
We were chasing that Dutch fella.Slightly confused as to why United waited until the end of the window to get this done. They could've had Casemiro signed and ready to start against Brighton but are running around late on in the window trying to get a deal done.
Cracking player though. Definitely the type of player United have been missing.
By all accounts Ten Hag wanted Eriksen and De Jong in midfield as his first choice. Doesn’t matter if we get De Jong or not after this, we now know that midfield simply would not work.Slightly confused as to why United waited until the end of the window to get this done. How do you suggest you change a dysfunctional team without adding new players to try and make it more functional?
Ten Hag has realised how important a DM is in the PL. The club are trying to get him the best they can.
Why is it? He's coming for a payday! Its an insane transfer and doesnt fit what we are trying to do at all. Young hungry players needed - instead we go galactico again. Its the impatience of fans and the lack of a coherent strategy by the club that has got us into our current mess - this is just extending it. Keep the £60m warm and see who shines at the WC - buy them in Jan.
I still think we could get FDJ as a rotation optionWe actually have Brazil's first choice midfield playing for us if he signs. That's mental
Always forget Fabinho was at Real Madrid. Crazy how difficult it is to make it into their midfield. While we’re pissing around with McTominay for the past 5 years. Laughable.
De Jong was clearly first choice and we were too slow to read the room.Slightly confused as to why United waited until the end of the window to get this done. Because we are idiots and spent entire summer waiting for De Jong.Slightly confused as to why United waited until the end of the window to get this done. They could've had Casemiro signed and ready to start against Brighton but are running around late on in the window trying to get a deal done.

FDJ is not a defensive midfielder. We need a DM and FDJ/other ball progressor simultaneously.De Jong was clearly first choice and we were too slow to read the room.
Because we've wasted the whole window laughably thinking we had a chance of De Jong.Slightly confused as to why United waited until the end of the window to get this done. They could've had Casemiro signed and ready to start against Brighton but are running around late on in the window trying to get a deal done.

Thaigo isnt a DM, hes a playmaker. Midfielseds who rely in their physical abilities often see a decline in their early 30s. Kante, Patrick Vieria etc etcThiago at Liverpool is 31
I wonder if their fans were complaining about his age when they signed him and complaining about the fit
Always liked those Madrid lads. Never had a bad word to say about them even when they were diving shithouse cnuts.madrid are a way classier club than those Catalan twats, that’s all I know.
As someone who never watches Real other than in the CL, is he often pretty bad then? Worrying. No you're not but people here seem to dismiss any argument based on watching actual games from Real Madrid week in and week out. It's either "he's too old" or "he's the best DM in the world", very few asking the real questions about how he'll fare in this disfunctional team without Kroos/Modric when he showed pretty big sign of inconsistency in la liga in the past 2 years and mostly forgettable performances with his NT.
Awful comparison.Thiago at Liverpool is 31

Good post.
If he signs we will have a world class DM. One that can compete with anyone in the world.
City - Rodri
Liverpool - Fabinho
Chelsea - Kante
Spurs - Bissouma/Holjberg
Arsenal - Partey
The better teams have the better DMs. It’s pretty obvious really.
Yes he doesn’t solve all our problems but anyone who doesn’t feel this signing improves us massively is a complete and utter fool. It will make us much harder to play through and give the CBs world class support.

Like Henderson, and Milner, and Fernandinho.Thaigo isnt a DM, hes a playmaker. Midfielseds who rely in their physical abilities often see a decline in their early 30s. Kante, Patrick Vieria etc etc
Who says Casemiro relies on his physical attributes though?Thaigo isnt a DM, hes a playmaker. Midfielseds who rely in their physical abilities often see a decline in their early 30s. Kante, Patrick Vieria etc etc
Just like 9/10 of your posts.Awful post
Haven’t even gotten a thread title change in yet. I was thinking “The Red Devil Wedding: The reins of Casemiro” or something like “Our DM watch has ended?” with the new Game of Thrones content coming out, but they’d need some improvement...Will we reach 100 pages before he signs?
