Madrid don't like selling their legends, the fans don't like it, but they have a great track record of moving them on in recent years and it makes it a whole lot easier for them to sell him if they say "he wanted to leave", so they gave us permission to speak to him, we offered to double his wages, he then went to Ancelotti and said he fancied it, and here we are negotiating a fee with Madrid. Good on him for wanting to come with no CL and other issues. Sure we're paying him a lot but he's a top player that is just what we need right now. He should be good for a few years and we can sort other positions out.
