Nope.

HERE is why Ten Hag wants Casemiro:

Bottom of the league but can still pull of signings like this, bloody hell Yanited

I wouldn't see how a player who plays with his intensity and passion would suddenly make a move to a league he's previously said he wants to play in, and suddenly phone in performances.

I just don't see it, but I might just be being naive.
It's extremely lazy thinking just blasted out like gospel along with Brazilians being washed up at 30, like it's a blanket statement of fact. Meanwhile you've got: Gilberto Silva, Marcos Senna, Fernandinho to name a few as DM's alone who were outstanding at the aforementioned age and north of it by some margin, alongside Thiago Silva who's still incredible at 36 (37?) as a CB. Personality determines indifference and player pride in performance and everything about Casemiro points towards him being a player of immense discipline and exemplary for youngsters at Madrid.

If he's as much of a competitor as he sounds, he doesn't need our predicament to get him fired up to prove himself in a new league - as long as his body holds up, he looks like the type to be well up for the challenge. We've seen no evident signs of a physical slide in him, so how is he being written off? The best in the world at what he does at an age DM's actually hone their craft...

Don't worry, you're not being naive or losing your mind: you're just in the Upside Down in this thread.

Exactly! Like this de Jong guy at Barca or a similar profile. United supporters that expect Casemiro to be the savior will be in for a surprise
I don’t think a single person has said such. In fact, most have been arguing in agreement with what you’re saying.

Spanish press also saying this is very, very close. Unless Ancelotti throws a fit or we get stingy at the last moment, it seems this will happen.
Ain’t it mad how we could be signing someone we never thought we would be as you can tell we only have 56 pages in this thread. But de Jong has over 1500 pages and we haven’t even got close to signing him
The Casemiro thing kind of came out of nowhere and a lot of us were skeptical of it being legit news. It's also happening at rapid pace. Madrid seem easier to deal with than Barcelona and there's less agent noise surrounding this one

Sorry, I missed your first comment since I didn’t read back a lot. And I absolutely agree with you. A midfield of Casemiro, Eriksen and Bruno is unbalanced and Casemiro will get pressed and United fans will wonder how he looked so good at Real.
Genuine question- how exactly is Liverpool or Arsenal coping with Fabinho/Hendo and Xhaka /Partey ?

can you name the dm, the best alive,
30 years old, so basic’ly 35,

casemiro! casemiro!

well he runs real slow, we’re going down,
he’s a panic-driven buy, purchased by a clown,

casemiro! (yah!) casemiro!
(casemiro!)

12 inches too short, 2 years too old,
he’s only here to earn some gold,

casemiro! casemiro!

top of the line in last minute punts,
unexplained injuries are a matter for you cnuts,

casemiro! casemiro! (yah!)

he tracks every runner, he’s full of beans,
he’s a striker crushing, am smacking, cm driving machine,

casemiro-oh woah, casemiro (yah!)

buy casemiro!

woah casemiro!

We’re finally signing a monstrous DM and people have reservations about his wages. It may not be Frenkie but I’ll take this any day over the shite we currently have.

Shame we aren’t pairing him with Rabiot after all. I’d have thought a Casio midfield would be a calculated success.

Casemiro is one of the best players in his position in the game. This is an unexpected signing bordering on the absurd.

Get Savic along with Casimero. Thats 100m spent on midfield. Get De Jong next year. That way we move along Fred, Mct and Donny and replace them with Savic, De Jong and Casemiro.

Yeah, because every other world class signing we've made recently has worked out splendidly.
Bit different signing a world class DM where we have desperate for a ball winner for 5 years compared to signing a big name in a position we are decent in.

This is called "addressing your biggest weakness with arguably the best player in the world for that role". The way you squad build successfully is by constantly addressing your biggest weaknesses. And then the next biggest weakness. Not ignoring the weaknesses and thinking a 37 year old Ronaldo can score enough to overcome the lack of midfield structure.

Even if we only had him at his best for 3/4 years he will be class.

We've reached the readying a bid stage.

Wonder how fast we'll get to the confidence remains Casemiro will be a Man Utd player stage?

Why are we "addressing the weakest area of our team" 2 weeks before the transfer window closes?

He'll sign a new contract with Madrid before we even get to that stage.

We're not in the EU anymore.

On the one hand this is the insanity we're so familiar with but we really do need a bit of steel which we've lacked since Nani's tears at Anfield. There was a barge on Ronaldo on saturday that summed up how other teams see us. If they know that someon'e going to be going through the back of them 5 minutes later they might start to think twice.

That barge on Ronaldo was crazy, and deserving of at least a yellow.

Looking in SloMo it could even have been a red!

If he’s signed and registered before liverpool and actually features; we can say we have the best and most accomplished midfielder on the pitch.

I wonder if he will improve us?

He’s got 10 premier league starts to his name. You think making a decision on that evidence is sound and that the people wanting proven world class players are mad?

It is the nature of the club, that we weren't even talking to this player until the last 48 hours. We have no plan, the scattergun approach we have seen over the last few days, back up my view that our recruitment policy is terrible. Casemiro is/has been a great player, but we are going to overpay and give him a long contract that no other club would dream of doing. We are desperate.

Caceido we have scouted for a while, and it was a deal we were interested in doing before, but for complexities of agents/ownership rights. He is 20 years old, and his performance at OT was as good as one for that profile of player as you could hope. He would give us at least 6 years service , so it would be a good investment, and you have the added benefit of his family being utd fans, so money wouldn't necessarily be the overriding factor for being here, whereas other than piles of money, why would Casemiro come here?? Do the math pal, you know I'm right

From Madrid's perspective it makes a lot of sense to sell now for a good fee if you believe in the younger replacements you have already bought. They do this reasonably often. Varane was another. They weren't desperate to get rid of him, but they could sell him for a good fee and were unlikely to massively miss him, given the other players at club. If they hold on to these players for much longer, you miss the opportunity to sell and fund another top incoming player.

the dreaded readying a bid stage.....wtaf does that even mean anymore for United and players of interest

Repeating the same old mistakes again....signing players at the back-end of their career who the big clubs are willing to let go

Sure he's a good player but we'll never get anywhere doing this, even if the odd one comes off.

Even with Casemiro, we still need a player that can dictate a tempo of a game.
