Someone please tell him we don't buy the refs here and they fecking hate us.

Given that that the Premier League is far more forgiving of physical confrontation than the Champions League, La Liga or Premeira Liga, I'm not sure that argument really stands up. Someone making the opposite journey with the same problem would make more sense.
Except the situation is that he has moved to England and been sent off twice in a matter of weeks so what you think makes sense is less important than what actually happened.

I don't know what the reason is for it. It could be the pace of play meaning he dives into a tackle like today, it could be he's getting wound up because he has a different position in the hierarchy of the team so he feels he has to lash out and grab someone. I don't really care I just know the outcome and I just want him to do his job. Which generally he has, but it does rely on him being available for selection and he shouldn't be above criticism for situations that cost us points.

Never a red. Same as the one before. Hilarious he went his whole career never receiving a straight red only to come into 'the most physical league' in the world getting two in the space of a month.

Anyone's leg can bounce of a ball. Hope we appeal, we have nothing to lose.

I thought it was a red myself. It was a stupid needless challenge and if that's a Saints player on any of our lot the opinions on here would be very very different. Too much bias.

I do think we should have had a pen though so we can still feel aggrieved.

Im not disputing the fact of his red cards, just your explanations.

Actually no. His foot deflected off the top of a ball. Wouldn’t call that a red even for Andy Robertson.

For someone of his experience and know all, he didn’t need to commit that sort of tackle or challenge in that area of the pitch. Just a simple shove into the opposition player will do to stop the play if needed to. Not sure if he will learn anything from this but we’ll really miss him in these four games

Jumped into the tackle

we all know it gives the ref a question

The funny thing is the one challenge he probably should have had a red for was against palace, when he got a yellow and missed the arsenal game.

The two reds are due to var intervention from slowed down second clips which show no context at all. Todays one id say is a yellow because his foot isn't out of control in a reckless sense, it occurs due to the foot rolling over the ball as can happen.

Harsh, but it cannot be overturned .. He will now be fresh for our run ins..
I think we would need around 7 wins from the remaining 12 to get top 4.. We should be able to do it I feel..
We have a really good chance to win the Europa this year ..i think his experience will be vital

That's not the rules anymore though. He barely clipped the top of it. It was pretty wreckless.

You'd not be saying this had that gone against us.

Seen the challenge multiple times and it was not a straight red for me. He met the ball well with control and it was unfortunate that his foot slipped and it hit Southampton player’s shin. If Casemiro is sent off then, so should the Southampton player who tackled Garnacho as he also (barely) got the ball and ended up scissor kicking Garnacho. Can’t have one and not the other. For me, both were not reds and the entire VAR intervention (How was it clear and obvious??) was disgusting. Every week the refs are making it up as they like and are using different standards & yardsticks to apply.

100% red card if you look at the still picture.
25% red card if you look at what actually happened.

I feel like with another ref he would get away with it, but this one was happy to give cards for a bit of meh tackles.

He definitely needs to be smarter though. Maybe he pulls out of this tackle and they score. So what? Now this 4 game ban is another major issue.

I do think we should appeal though.

He got a fairly substantial part of the ball. What do you mean he barely clipped it? And he was side on when he made the tackle and was not really any more reckless than the one on Garnacho.

It was. That's an absurd comment too. Garnacho challenge was a fair clean tackle. That's just how he fell that looks to have done it for him.

Too much frustration today on here for fans to be objective. It was a horrible challenge from Cas. You watch the pundits (if there are any tonight) and they will all say it was a red I'm sure.

We definitely should have had a pen though.

I know he should have probably be more careful considering the area of the pitch and that refereeing in EPL is inconsistent and shit, but that's never a red for me and even if it's not United I would feel the same. There is no logic in it as players often do take the ball with their studs on the ground cleanly and it's not a problem. Here he gets the ball, but his leg bounces from the ball and hits the player (the collision is actually because Alvarez also makes contact with the ball which prevents Casemiro taking it off cleanly with his challenge). He doesn't even hit him hard after the bounce and the Saints players aren't screaming that hard for the red. To me, this goes against the spirit of the game. Or we can just forbid all such tackles? No, we will punish only freak incidents like this? Makes zero sense.

On top of it, the referee sees the incident clearly, thinks it's a yellow and then goes to the tv with an isolated clip where they just show and slow down a moment after he hit the ball and his leg bounce of it to make it worse. Where is the clear and obvious error considering that the referee already punished the incident? Absolutely ridiculous imo. And then, on top of it, he doesn't whistle a clear penalty with the handball.

Mate that’s a lot of text when the simple answer is, he jumped into the tackle with studs showing, yes those are often given red cards
Whether it’s a strong yellow or soft red doesn’t matter, I think everyone agrees it’s a foul when he didn’t need to

I agree with you buddy, it’s a bitter one to take, because he does get a lot of the ball but if that’s against us we are screaming foul play

We definitely shouldn't appeal this if we didn't appeal the last red. The last red was way more dodgy imo.

The FA are always going to side with the ref when it comes to interpretation of the tackle.

Or, he makes the tackle without giving away a card?

He went in too high which is why he's ended up rolling over the top of the ball and planting his studs in the middle of the shin.

21 others players managed 90 minutes today without planting their studs in the middle of the oppositions shin. It's really not that difficult.

Don't get involved in petty scraps and put your hands on the neck of the opposition, don't dive in recklessly and plant your studs in the middle of the oppositions shin and you'd be amazed at how few red cards you receive.

Ah, right. Because that's a straight red every time.
No it's not. I watch quite the other matches and basically you could see at least one like this a week. Sometime it's a yellow, sometime it's a red, sometime a foul, sometime not even a foul. VAR or not.

I've heard it all now. Going in studs up over the ball directly onto a players shin sometimes isn't even a foul! Ok mate!

Less than even 25% IMO. The ref made the right call on field only to have his mind changed by Andre Marriner (VAR ref) Taylor then chose to ignore a few penalty shouts with Marriner sitting on his arse not switching on VAR.

He has been very poor recently. That dumb challenge was bound to happen with such firm. He needs the break to recharge himself.

Well the Garnacho situation wasn't even a foul, I thought catching a leg in scissors is also dangerous situation ( both this and Casemiro tackle were unlucky). But apparently it isn't.

You lot need to pipe down. Both reds were bullshit, there’s an agenda against him or United. He’s a victim in all of this. Direct your negative energy elsewhere.
This, both reds were ridiculous, and neither should be held against Casemiro. Results like this make me realize most of our fans are fickle morons, 2 weeks ago these were the greatest players ever, a couple fluke results, one the result of poor reffing, and now their all bums.

He’s looked knackered recently and his passing has been very sloppy in the last 5 games.

Never a red card.

Starting to worry that his legs might have gone?

After a brilliant start he has looked way off the pace recently. I thought he was injured in the Liverpool game as he looked so bad.
